Bo'ness United 2018/19

Recommended Posts

Whichever way you look at it, we're light at the back.  Definitely need more competition there, especially in the centre of the defence. A lot of players' contracts are up at the end of June, so I'm anticipating some movement in the market soon.

Especially at left back. We don’t even have one as it stands. Well, as far as I’m aware, unless the new boy plays there.

Could really be doing with bringing in a good 5 or 6 players IMO. More-so, it’d be even better to start the season with a first 11 that picks itself and remains constant pretty much all season instead of an ever changing line-up week in week out that costs us a whack of points early doors.

Apparently near where the Pie Hut is.

Oh yes the left-back position is a must.  ATM we have two players who can do a job there, Will & Dougie but no specialist.  Definitely do not play Scott there, totally wasted there.

Numbers wise, we have Rintoul & Batchelor to add, have we not?

Correct. Need a left-back-that's a priority plus cover for the centre-halfs and another striker.

On the info we have so far we have 15 signed players. Murphy, Snowdon, Hunter, Campbell, Gemmell, Jacobs, Keast, Donnelly, Scott, Wright, Gray, Prentice, Mckenzie, Watt, Morgan.

Why are Bo'ness not putting in a 20s team as most other teams are.

They have no youth set up or facilities in place to do so

I thought Bo'ness were getting 3G put down ?most junior teams will be playing their 20s on a friday night at local 3G due to floodlights etc .  A 20s & youth pathway is vital to progress in the seniors, i think its something the committee need to look into, I am surprised they didn't approach local boys club teams to come on board, most junior teams have worked hard over the last 2/3 months to get something into place by doing this.

It looks like the late decision to join didnt help, maybe next season.

I believe that is being put back to next year with a rise in the cost.
