Cowdenbeath 2018-2019

Agree with this - these play off matches should be played under SPFL rules that is simple solution. Last year when we played Cove, despite A dugout melee being caused by a Cove tackle and three of their players being sent off - Cowden were fined twice as much as Cove for that incident because fines are lower for non SPFL clubs.

Looks like the Albion Rovers/Berwick Rangers board have been reading this thread!

Absolute joke we have a pyramid system but the rules are different.

Cove used the rules last year too aided by the highland league who rearranged their fixtures to give them the best chance of beating Spartans and then us. They had the league won early due to fixture arrangement which meant they could play trialists in their remaining games, something not allowed in the spfl.

then they start a fight in the play off and we get fined double what they get because we are a spfl club !

When I got up that morning, little did I know that the steak pie at Wee Jimmies could have been trumped.

Not really mate. If you want to compete for the same thing, the rules have to be the same for all.

But is it not that rules are unfair rather than Cove breaking any rules? So that any changes would be next season when either albion or berwick could be non league and on the other side of it where they would benefit from the current rules?

If course mate, it’s not Coves fault. It’s still wrong though.

It won’t affect either next season as neither would be in the running to come back up if they go down.

Very true. Hadn't considered that. Just seemed odd the two teams at risk of being on the other end of the rules by the time they are changed complaining about it.
