I bet it hurt posting that one JG.

Where's it changed for Coleraine? Losing Kearney or more to it.

I wasn't going to bother .

I'm not au fait with what's going on/gone on at The Showgrounds but there has to be more to it than Kearney going. Did Coleraine not lose somebody in the summer to England?

And what makes it worse is Ballymena are top!

In all honesty this shouldn't be a matter of debate given the crime.

Agreed, but the Cliftonville section of ILF makes for interesting reading.

Lots of good posters there, but others are trying to portray Jay as a victim too, while some blame bigotry if you even dare comment.

The Crues and Cliftonville win, no change in the top two. Or the bottom two, for that matter.

In The Championship Larne lose at Ballinamallard in a major surprise. Dergview win the 6 pointer at Limavady down at the bottom. Larne still 17 points clear although Dundela now have a game in hand. Dergview only a point behind Limavady at the bottom.

I was asking one of my sons-in-law who used to play minor football (Desertmartin Swifts, Moyola Park, that level - which is  a higher level than I ever did), and he says Oran Kearney - whom he met on a couple of occasions - is a great man motivator, and Rodney McAree isn't, although you'd think there would be more to Coleraine's decline than that.

Also heard a couple of Tobermore men saying Kearney was a very nice fellow as well as being an excellent manager.

Whenever McAree was appointed I wasn't overwhelmed - may have already posted that - but the only other men I'd have taken were Stephen Baxter and David Jeffrey, and neither of them was very likely!

Here we go - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46661634

Top v bottom, and Ballymena beat Ards 2-0 at The Warden Street Showgrounds, and even managed to miss two penalties, or, more correctly, Ards keeper, Sam Johnston saved them. Apparently Johnston is a great prospect per Radio Ulster pundits.  Linfield and Glenavon failed to keep pace, drawing 0-0 at The International Windsor Park Stadium, Glenavon claiming they "scored" but it wasn't given, and The Blues also having a "goal" chalked off. Crusaders defeated Warrenpoint Town 3-1 at Seaview in a flurry of late goals. Coleraine win 2-1 against Dungannon Swifts at The Coleraine Showgrounds and the Institute v Cliftonville game nearly deserves a post on its own, 6-4 to 'Tute, two hat tricks, a missed penalty and The Reds' keeper red carded, giving them a problem as they had no sub keeper. Institute were 3-1 up at the break, within 7 minutes of the restart it was 3-3, then Cliftonville got a penalty which was saved, Institute raced up the pitch to get their own penalty, with keeper Brian Neeson getting his marching orders, duly converted. Three more goals meant it ended 6-4.

And Friday night's clash between Newry and Glentoran was postponed after the match officials were involved in a car accident. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/northern-ireland/46635252

Ballymena 4 points clear, 45 from 20, Linfield second, 41 from 20, a point ahead of Glenavon, also played 20. Two points back are Crusaders who have played 21. Then Cliftonville in fifth with 35 from 20. Coleraine sixth, 31 from 20.

Bottom half: Institute seventh with 22 from 20, a point ahead of Glentoran who now have a game in hand. Ninth are Warrenpoint Town, 18 from 20, two points ahead of Dungannon Swifts played 20, with Newry City in the play off spot, 15 from 19, Ards bottom with 11 from 21, so not looking too good for them at the moment.

and the 10 goals https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/46662339

On Boxing Day Ballymena v Coleraine, Cliftonville v Crusaders, Linfield v Glentoran, Dungannon v Glenavon, Warrenpoint v Newry and the only non-derby Institute v Ards.

In The Championship Larne weren't playing, and Dundela lost, allowing Carrick to jump them into second following their 2-0 win against Portadown, who aren't making much shape about getting back into the top flight. The bottom teams weren't in action so no change there. Larne are 16 points clear of Carrick, both having played 19. They meet at Taylors Avenue on the 29th, the Boxing Day fixtures being Larne v Ballyclare and Carrick v Limavady, I'd have thought Carrick v Larne would have been Boxing Day, but there you are.

Down in Division Three (Intermediate Division) lurk erstwhile Premiership teams Armagh City and Lisburn Distillery, neither of whom look likely to trouble the promotion spots. No sign of Donegal Celtic, have they gone altogether?

Goals and sendings off galore - 6 goals at The Ballymena Showgrounds as Coleraine throw away a 2 goal lead, although they were down to 10 men by that stage. A stroll in The Windsor Park for Linfield, 4-0 against Glentoran, who finished with 10 men. Crusaders run riot at Solitude, 5-1 to the visitors. 2-2 at Milltown between Warrenpoint and Newry, both teams finished with 10 men, 10 man Dungannon get a point against Glenavon at Stangmore as the Lurgan Blues score a last minute equaliser, and Institute win again, 1-0 against Ards at The Brandywell.

Two points in it at the top, Ballymena 46 from 21, Linfield 44 from 21. Third Glenavon 41 from 21, ahead of Crusaders on goal difference. The Crues have played 22. Fifth Cliftonville 35 from 21, with Coleraine 3 points back in sixth, played 21.

Bottom half: seventh are Institute, who are now going well, 25 from 21. 4 point gap to Glentoran who have played 20. Ninth are Warrenpoint Town with 19 from 21, tenth Dungannon Swifts 17 from 21. Newry City have 16 from 20 in the play off spot, and poor old Ards are bottom with 11 from 22.

Larne and Carrick both won to set up Saturday's derby, although Larne are 16 points clear. Down at the Bottom Dergview lost to Ballinamallard and are still a point behind Limavady, who also lost.

Ballymena v Newry, Cliftonville v Linfield, Glentoran v Crusaders, Glenavon v Institute, Dungannon Swifts v Ards and Warrenpoint Town v Coleraine. A lot of big games there at both ends of the table.

No change at the top, Ballymena and Linfield both win. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46710888

Ballymena won 3-1 against Newry City at The Showgrounds, while Linfield kept on their coat tails with a 2-0 win at Solitude, despite going down to 10 men. Crusaders probably feel they are still in there after a late penalty gave them a 1-0 win at The Oval, where Glentoran had a man sent off very late on. Glenavon shared the points with Institute in a six goal encounter at Mourneview. Coleraine won 1-0 at Warrenpoint and Ards got a big win - in both senses - at Stangmore, defeating Dungannon Swifts 3-0, which might set the alarm bells ringing in The Swifts' boardroom.

A setback for Coleraine https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46712335

Ballymena still two points clear, 49 from 22, Linfield 47 from 22. Crusaders 3 points back having played a game more. Glenavon are fourth with 42 from 22.

Down at the bottom no change either but it's tightened up slightly. 9th Warrenpoint with 19 from 22, 10th Dungannon 17 from 22, 11th Newry 16 from 21 and still bottom but a bit closer are Ards, 14 from 23.

In The Championship Carrick win the clash of the top two, 2-0 against Larne, reducing the gap to "only" 13 points. Portadown are third with 3 points less than Carrick after winning at Dergview, The Ports have 35 from 20 with a game in hand on Carrick. Dergview and Limavady are stranded at the bottom, Dergview 14 from 21, Limavady 15 from 21 and then the PSNI, 23 from 20.

Linfield win at Bangor against Ards, as Ballymena lose at Seaview, so those two swap positions, Linfield top, 1 point clear of United.

I'll post links to highlights later, Glentoran's defensive failings are particularly amusing - unless you're a Glens' fan, of course.

A lot of goals again, as Ballymena lose the top spot, suffering their first defeat in 20 games as Crusaders win 3-2 at Seaview. Meanwhile Linfield win 2-0 away to Ards. Glenavon must be out of it now after losing 3-1 at home to Warrenpoint Town. Coleraine inflict another heavy defeat on Cliftonville, 4-1 at The Showgrounds , Institute win at Newry, and after their humiliation from Ards, Dungannon bounce back to win 4-2 at The Oval. Alarm bells ringing in The Glens' boardroom?

No red cards today.

Linfield top, 50 from 23, a point ahead of Ballymena, who have also played 23. Third Crusaders, 47 from 24, then fourth a fading Glenavon, 42 from 23. Coleraine move up to fifth, 38 from 23, 3 points ahead of sixth place Cliftonville, also played 23.

Bottom half: Seventh are Institute, 29 from 23, maybe safe from the relegation dog fight, eighth are Warrenpoint Town, 22 from 23, ninth are Glentoran, 10 games without a win, 21 points from 22,  a point ahead of Dungannon who have played a game more, eleventh are Newry City, 16 from 22 with Ards bottom on 14 from 24.

That Newry v Glentoran match shaping up to be a vital one fpr both sides.
