Audaces Fortuna Juvat
Check out the Cliftonville site on ILF where they are squealing sectarianism. Some say it is because of the Reds anthem protest at last year's Irish Cup final but, in reality, only Roy Carroll knows.
Jacksgranda
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45334583 League Cup, and the one shock was Glenavon losing 1-0 at home to Dergview. Coleraine, Dungannon Swifts and Glentoran all squeezed through by the odd goal against lower league opposition being Ballyclare Comrades, Limavady United and Larne respectively. Ballymena, Institute and Cliftonville all hit 5, Carrick rattled in 6 against S&L Swifts (I thought they were changing their name to Belfast Celtic?), but top scorers on the night were Linfield, who beat Moyola Park 8-0. Warrenpoint got a welcome win at Annagh United, 3-1, they'll be hoping to carry this into their league matches. And then there is this - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45355222
Jacksgranda
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45381999 Coleraine go top on goal difference from Linfield after last night's 3-0 win at seaview. I'll give a summary of Saturday's games later.
Jacksgranda
Only two winners on Saturday, Newry City defeated a fading Cliftonville 1-0 and Warrenpoint's League Cup win was forgotten about as Ballymena thrashed them 6-1 at Milltown. The other games were all draws, Glenavon and Glentoran drew 1-1, Institute and Dungannon and Linfield and Ards drew 0-0, good point for Ards. Coleraine lead Linfield on goal difference, one point back on 10 points are Glenavon and Ballymena, fifth are Glentoran on 8, ahead of Institute - they must be pleased with their start - on goal difference. Bottom half: Seventh are Crusaders - dreadful start from one of the title favourites - on seven points, one ahead of Newry City, who are probably happy enough with their start, then a disappointing Cliftonville on 5 points, with Ards tenth with 4 points. Dungannon are in the play off spot with 2 points and bottom of the pile are Warrenpoint Town, 0 points and a goal difference of -13. Everybody has played 5 games. Here are some links to the games: - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45385440 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45385334 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45385328 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45385330 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45385332

Ivo den Bieman
No team that defends like Crusaders did in that game can be considered serious title candidates. Two of the three goals were horrendous. Coleraine looked terrific and will be serious contenders again. (I read somewhere once that Warrenpoint would sink as soon as Newry City came back to the top flight, as so many Newry players went to Millfield when the original City went bust. Looks like that's playing out this season.) Edited September 4, 2018 by Ivo den Bieman

Warrenpoint have never exactly set the heather on fire, but they look to be in serious diffs this season.
Ivo den Bieman
All clearly not well at Cliftonville: Barry Gray slams players as "disgrace to the badge" after Newry defeat will be surprised if the lightbulb-heeded gaffer is at Cliftonville much longer, to be honest.

I hope it works out for him, but it'll damage Coleraine, imo. And on the pitch Linfield beat Warrenpoint 5-0 to go top. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45455211

Audaces Fortuna Juvat
Was at Warrenpoint and I doubt I'll return. Sorry to see Oran go on the one hand, but he is one of life's good guys, so I am pleased he got a step up.
Jacksgranda
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45516096 McAree for The Showgrounds. Not exactly overwhelmed, but I'd be hard pushed to choose anyone else (other than David Jeffrey).
Jacksgranda
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45535413 Linfield win 3-0 against the Swifts to go 4 points clear (Just in case anybody didn't read the headline, ) Crusaders get a win, beating Newry City 1-0 at Seaview, Institute's bright start ends with a 4-1 hammering from Glenavon at The Brandywell, and Coleraine can only draw 0-0 at Bangor against Ards.
