Surely the only club the ordinary Scottish football fan wants to see go bust is the Rangers?

One of the few joys on offer to those who follow a small club is to revel in the  temporary misfortunes of the big boys, hence the popularity of all things DUFC.

Small team mentality wanting another team to go bust. Nothing but bitterness and jealousy shining through.

Dee Man's life revolves around United. If we went bust he'd be so devoid of pleasure you'd probably find him floating face down in the tay.

You're stretching it a bit with the big team patter, Dundee Utd had a golden era in the 80s... those days are gone.

I take it this thread has been started because Clark moved to United? Just guessing, I've not read the rest of the replies. It is sweet, though, that a club familiar with administration is willing to warn others of their detrimental effects.

There is one thing that is clear though, and that's Scottish football needs a strong Dundee United. In that way they are like a lower league Rangers.

Flash back to a couple weeks ago where we extended our unbeaten run against Dunfermline to 15 (fifteen) games; it was taken well by most pars fans, who wished us well against livi.
Rumours surface that were offering their two best players better money and longer contracts and suddenly there’s a small but vocal section telling us we’re one of the worst clubs in Scotland and teaming up with the funsters to wish the same kind of financial catastrophe that befell both of their outfits on us.
Meanwhile you have knicker wetting of the first order on the Dunfermline thread about ‘AJ not offering our main men longer contracts’, whilst simultaneously a bunch of them infest the United thread to tell us we’re throwing fortunes away on shite. Imagine what it will be like if we announce Aird, the forums won’t be able to handle the unprecedented levels of seethe.

Imagine seething at the thought of losing that confused bigot to a rival? Mind blowing....
