Boghead will always be missed but your *insert current name of new stadium* looked stunning from above when I passed it today! Not many grounds can boast a backdrop like that, even if is comparatively soulless on match days when compared with boghead.

Is that the one opposite the Duke Of Montrose in the town centre? (GBH specialists only.)

I liked the Salutation Inn. Real ale and a clientele whose average age made me feel young again. Thought I'd have to show my pension book to get served.

I don’t remember the Duke of Montrose, but it’s just off the high street.

I think the Salutation Inn may be gone now (Montrose fans, correct me if I’m wrong). If it’s the one I’m thinking of, it became pretty relaxed about asking for ID... (possibly why it’s not there any more).

The Salutation has been shut a number of years now. Duke of Montrose was on the corner of the high street and the street running up from the train station. It's now a restaurant I believe after changing hands and names numourous times. It's opposite the Market Arms which is where I'd recommend for a pint.
Star Bar on the way to the ground and Royal Arch in the high street are to be avoided.
There are loads of pubs for the size of town and plenty choice if you can find them.
Personally like the Golf Inn but maybe a little out the way for visiting fans.

Thanks, I've never been in the Royal Arch - always thought it looked pretty rough. Golf Inn is a great pub, my mate's Grandfather used to own it.

Does anyone know if there are odds available anywhere on Dumbarton being in administration by the end of the season?  maybe worth a tenner on it

This'll be fun. Go on then, why are we heading for administration?

I'm excited to see where this leads. Come on 'Burnsythebinman' don't keep us waiting.

I'll happily give him odds and take his tenner if he's that confident.

Have we always offered 13-16 year olds £10 for ticket? just noticed it on the match preview

This season, yes.

Six subs is more than enough

Is it? What do we do if we have 3 players out through suspension or injury? That leaves you with 2 outfield subs and a goalkeeper, 1 of those outfield subs could be a defender. It doesn't give you much scope to change a game if things aren't going your way.

I agree that 6 subs should be enough if everyone is fit but I'd imagine the chances of us having everyone fit for every game this season are slim to none. It's a risky move when you can't fill your bench with everyone fit, whether or not the risk pays off remains to be seen.

Here we are, 3 weeks into the season, and we are facing the scenario of having THREE subs on the bench. One of those being a goalkeeper.

Bodies are absolutely required if we want to mount any sort of serious title challenge this season. We are now in a position of only being able to make two subs tomorrow unless we fancy flinging Jamie McGowan up top for the last 15.

Not sure why you requoted me there. I said that six subs was enough and I stand by that. If we only have three that could be an issue.

Because 6 subs (when every player is available) = a squad of 17, which isn't enough, was the point I was making that you originally responded to. I'd be surprised if there are any games this season where all 17 are completely injury or suspension free.
