Thoughts on Ross Kavanagh? Apparently in talks with Brechin.

He’s a good, lower league player. He obviously came through the ranks with ourselves and was dangerous playing through the middle under Stuart McLaren. He scored goals for fun in the Development League and looked dangerous when he broke into our First Team.

Dave Mackay moved him onto the Left Wing for some reason, and I personally thought he was ok there, but no better than that. He is powerful, has a decent bit of pace about him and has an eye for goal, but on the Wing he just wasn’t effective but Mackay stuck with it.

I’m actually not sure why Jim McInally signed him as everyone knows he already had better options up front, which is a shame for Kav because he seems to have slid out of the picture a bit, but if you can sign him, you’ve got a good player on your hands who is still young, still a little bit raw but with a desire to work hard and score goals, and always gives 100%.

Showed little for Peterhead when given limited opportunities. Hopefully means Aaron Norris gets a deserved chance, best youngster Peterhead have imo, can you take McLean in a BOGOF offer?

There will be some moans about that but he is playing every week for them which cant be a bad thing, presumably he has talked with Jim  & given the midfielders already in the squad would rather start each week rather sit on the bench mainly with limited playing time, still young enough to break through yet.

Any news of possible signings in this transfer window. Always thought our squad was thin to start with but with the youngsters out on loan and the inevitible injuries and suspensions to come, The dug-out’s going to get quite bare.

Plenty in the dugout, just a shortage of football players.

Probably going to be zero. Or a last minute gamble on someone clearly not fit for purpose.

Same situation as last season looms.

Has there been any recent news regarding Nicky Riley? Are we likely to see him playing this season/ever?

Nicky has been at most games for a while doing some light running etc before games, and was doing a wee bit of ball work more recently. Its been a long hard road & hopefully can get back playing at some point. Glad the club have given him a decent level of support.

Sutherland signed from Elgin

McInally really is going for Déjà fecking vu.  Reports that we can have him just now for a nominal fee, surely we don't need another forward?  Sutherland took a while to settle into the team the last time he was here, here's hoping history doesn't repeat itself but I

With the last few games that I have attended, even a blind man could see that the issue isn't scoring goals but creating opportunities.

Can we have McLean on loan? He must be pretty pissed off!

Would have thought you had enough forwards? Now you sign another injury prone one. Jim obviously gambling like last year that he is not going to get any defensive injuries.

Dont shout at Sutherland!

Yeah, sounds like a last throw of the dice by Jim. Remains to be seen whether it pays off.

Can understand it a bit in that McLean has been poor this season and Lyle hasn't scored as many as expected. Rory hasn't been 100% fit for a while either.

Hopefully he'll play up front and allow Dow to be more creative from deeper.

Seems Jim's philosophy is still to score more than we let in.

That was Mixu's philosophy when he was Cowden's manager. Worked fine, exciting football, don't knock it.
