I think everyone knows that in part the players we have are at the club because of the manager, and there is a feeling that we might struggle to get a decent manager and players if he goes. He has won more games than he has lost so in a way he has been successful and we have a had a couple of good cup runs and a league title. It's the losses when it has mattered that have hurt , no point in pumping teams 7-0 in the league then bottling the play offs. I think it will be hard to judge until he eventually goes. At the moment it doesn't look like much is being built for the future, especially in developing young players who don't get much game time under Jim. It always seems to be about the short term results (as with the majority of cubs) although this is probably more to do with the board than the manager. Sometimes it seems silly complaining when your team is at the right end of the table more often than not, but as you are alluding to everyone expects Peterhead to have had a bit more success than we have. He obviously came through the ranks with ourselves and was dangerous playing through the middle under Stuart McLaren. He scored goals for fun in the Development League and looked dangerous when he broke into our First Team.Dave Mackay moved him onto the Left Wing for some reason, and I personally thought he was ok there, but no better than that. He is powerful, has a decent bit of pace about him and has an eye for goal, but on the Wing he just wasn’t effective but Mackay stuck with it.I’m actually not sure why Jim McInally signed him as everyone knows he already had better options up front, which is a shame for Kav because he seems to have slid out of the picture a bit, but if you can sign him, you’ve got a good player on your hands who is still young, still a little bit raw but with a desire to work hard and score goals, and always gives 100%. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
