Peterhead fans, would you agree with this quote:

“McInally, whose side missed out on promotion via the play-offs last season, says he has "done a lot of terrific things" at Balmoor.”

That’s a bold statement that is hugely debatable surely?

I think everyone knows that in part the players we have are at the club because of the manager, and there is a feeling that we might struggle to get a decent manager and players if he goes.  He has won more games than he has lost so in a way he has been successful and we have a had a couple of good cup runs and a league title. It's the losses when it has mattered that have hurt , no point in pumping teams 7-0 in the league then bottling the play offs. I think it will be hard to judge until he eventually goes. At the moment it doesn't look like much is being built for the future, especially in developing young players who don't get much game time under Jim. It always seems to be about the short term results (as with the majority of cubs) although this is probably more to do with the board than  the manager.

Sometimes it seems silly complaining when your team is at the right end of the table more often than not, but as you are alluding to everyone expects Peterhead to have had a bit more success than we have.

Good to see McInally down coaching the youngsters today at Catto Park. Also saw McAllister going in about. Good on them.

Aye he does it every year, usually tattie holidays and Easter holidays for the school kids. Usually 4/5 players come along to help him out.

Well done Peterhead, decent cup game and best of luck in next round

Cheers, your team & support can certainly hold your heads up after what was a fine effort and a good turnout from your support. Hope you all managed to enjoy your day & looking at your team you could be more regular visitors to us before too long, good luck in your league.

Thoughts on Ross Kavanagh? Apparently in talks with Brechin.

He’s a good, lower league player. He obviously came through the ranks with ourselves and was dangerous playing through the middle under Stuart McLaren. He scored goals for fun in the Development League and looked dangerous when he broke into our First Team.

Dave Mackay moved him onto the Left Wing for some reason, and I personally thought he was ok there, but no better than that. He is powerful, has a decent bit of pace about him and has an eye for goal, but on the Wing he just wasn’t effective but Mackay stuck with it.

I’m actually not sure why Jim McInally signed him as everyone knows he already had better options up front, which is a shame for Kav because he seems to have slid out of the picture a bit, but if you can sign him, you’ve got a good player on your hands who is still young, still a little bit raw but with a desire to work hard and score goals, and always gives 100%.

Showed little for Peterhead when given limited opportunities. Hopefully means Aaron Norris gets a deserved chance, best youngster Peterhead have imo, can you take McLean in a BOGOF offer? [emoji476]
