If it’s undeserving starts every game you are on about and awful deliveries and giving away possesion then which midfielder does that make you think of? Here’s a clue, Wullie’s been a defender all season and Simon won’t play tomorrow (plastic allergy!) [emoji6]

Just because Gibson has been playing in defence doesnt mean that the other aspects of his game apart from defending can be ignored. In recent games his passing has been questionable at times and his set pieces (bar the one he has scored from) have been below what is expected from our "set piece specialist". His corners very rarely get past the first man and on the odd occasion that they do it very rarely finds one of our players. Since his arrival at Balmoor he has never reached the heights that he was expected to reach, and with the majority of his performances being poor or average at best with only the odd good game here and there, he never warranted a place in that 17-18 team of the season. This season hasn't been peachy for him either as the performances have yet again been poor. Maybe its time for Gibson to be dropped and see how we perform without him because the way the team is playing right now has no chance of winning the league and we all know how we fair in the playoffs.

It's amazing how everyone sees the same game differently. For me Gibson is one of the best signings we have made in recent years. He is an entertainer who is hated by fans of other clubs which is a good clue as to how good he is. The 6-2 game at Montrose last season was a joy to watch with Wullie ripping them to shreds and his goal at Cowdenbeath a couple of weeks ago was sheer brilliance. There are many players I would drop ahead of Gibson if I had to choose between him and the rest of the squad. I am still confident we will win the league this season and he will no doubt play his part in securing the title.

On his day Gibson shows how good a player he can be but it's just his consistency that lets him down. I dont know if it's the constant change in roles this season (between defence and midfield) that have had an effect on his performances this season but for me I dont see what he is bringing to the table for us as the bad games are outweighing the good games. I would like to see how we would play if we drop gibson and play stevenson higher up the park when boyle returns to full fitness.

Peterhead fans very quiet on this site, why? After last season’s crumble are they just too cautious to think they have a chance at promotion and so are keeping their powder dry ‘till it’s mathematically impossible for The Blue Toon to let them down AGAIN ?

Correct. I am quietly optimistic that we will win the league but then again I thought that last season too. As has been said, if we can muster 22 points each quarter we will surely win it with points to spare. Here's hoping.

Gibson divided opinion during his short spell at Sons too. Personally, I liked him because when he did the good stuff he was obviously an exciting player. This was probably his finest moment, scoring the winning goal for us on the opening day of the 2015-16 season against Hibs.

Willie is usually 3rd in the queue for freekicks with us, Rory normally has first claim followed by Jamie Stevenson if a bit further out although Willie grabbed his chance a few weeks ago at Cowdenbeath scoring a beauty from nearly on the touchline & 60 yards from goal, unfortunately no camera at the game but those there will talk about that one for a long time.

Hi this has replaced the usual matchday programme you can normally view the current one on our site, don't know if it will cover our cup match or if a separate programme will be done for it. The magazine version is good quality but is larger than a normal programme. Did hear a whisper lately that they are considering changing it.

Just had a look on our site & the last few years since it started the cup games have been included in the magazine.

Pretty much as you say. Also I am a lot busier this season than last so my ‘boycott’ is really just me not actually being able to make it to games. I don’t like to comment if I haven’t seen the match as usually there is always more to a game than just the score line. Pleased to see we are starting well so far but just struggle to have confidence we can maintain it after the last 2 or 3 seasons.

Team had a wee run out at Station Park last night versus Forfar. The goals were fair flying in and a 5-5 draw ensued, at least I think that’s how it finished. Entertaining but every time Peterhead scored they gifted a goal back. Couple of boys there showing their stuff definitely liked the tall number 6 worth a punt but unless Jack or Scott leave then guess nowt will happen there. The senior boys when all on showed why the are the 1st picks in their positions.
Decent show versus a league higher opposition but their defence looks the biggest problem and the midfield so so, 9 @ 10 up front quite a hand-full.

Peterhead fans, would you agree with this quote:

“McInally, whose side missed out on promotion via the play-offs last season, says he has "done a lot of terrific things" at Balmoor.”

That’s a bold statement that is hugely debatable surely?

It would probably split opinion among our support, those that look at results only would probably say that Jim is fortunate to have lasted as long as he has at Balmoor, last year the title should have been won with the available squad.

On the other hand Jim has brought a number of quality players to us & not only by handing out cash but working with/for Jim has got us a few that probably would not have come otherwise. As for supporters Jim is always approachable & you always get an honest answer from him.  Those travelling to away games will know how he appreciates the effort it takes & how he helps make travel possible where I doubt it happens elsewhere. Personally think we would find it difficult to get a better man overall in charge of the club & am fairly sure if things changed Jim would be the first to hold his hands up & go, believe he took a bit of persuading to stay on after not going up last year. Hopefully we can put that right this season.
