King Kebab Posted May 13, 2018 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Has anybody seen this little gem??? It's a wee 20 minute program tucked away at Thursday midnight on FOX!!! Hank Azaria plays the titular character Jim Brockmire who was a superstar Major League Baseball announcer, who suffers a truly magnificent live, on air meltdown/breakdown after catching his wife "at it" with the pool guy!!! After disappearing for 10 years, during which time he became a renowned foreign TV star, gangster, International drug dealer, porn star, arms dealer, sex addict, alcoholic and habitual drug user, his obvious love for the game forces him to return to the announcing job, thinking he would swan back in to the big leagues, he obviously doesn't and ends up getting the gig at some minor league team, the Morristown Frackers, who to his unbelievable disappointment are the only ones who want him and even then it is because the are desperate for the publicity!!! His obvious disappointment and bitterness at being reduced to this level is obviously the main plot device but it leads to some cracking characterisation and performances from the two leads, Azaria is phenomenal in this and Amanda Peet who plays the equally debauched owner of the Club is also excellent as well as being a fine example of what the Americans call a cougar!!! It's halfway through the second season in the states, the third has already been green lighted and it's halfway through the first here, do yourself a favour and use what the catchup facility on your skybox was meant for, it's only four episodes in and you are seriously missing out if you haven't seen it!!! 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That's pish man, it was there at the beginning of the week, you can always take my post as a run down of the first episode and go from there, it's still worth it!!! The actor playing the part is just brilliant.
