Apologies for omission...also ideal for casting an eye over trialists of whatever age !!! Watson is actually 38 well until April at least 😉

Watson is actually 38 well until April at least 😉 I'm not massively inspired by the thought of a 38 year old who last played in the HFL being the answer to the defensive issues. I live to be proved wrong
RateofKnots 53 Report post Posted January 6 I assume its Gary Irvine that's been in Harkins ear, because I thought he was dead set on being retired. That would be a big creative influence, if he has the desire.

Jan Vojáček 8,526 Report post Posted January 6 16 hours ago, Willy_P said: Gary Harkins? If Barry Smith had left us over the summer (he was considering it given he still lives in or around Dundee) then Harkins was being sounded out to be our assistant manager. I really didn't think we'd see him back playing in the SPFL. But there you are.
Bridie Vision 177 Report post Posted January 6 Are we likely to sign any of these old men...I mean trialists?

gm_1982 203 Report post Posted January 7 Hearing that Jimmy Scott has signed for you guys. If true, a very strange signing. Was happy to see him move on from us. Plenty of effort but painfully slow.

theSilverFox 509 Report post Posted January 8 First Meechan, now McCallum signing extensions, these are two of our very best players, players who are certain starters if fit and both very consistent performers. Excellent business by the management team and the board. Perhaps a good indication of the spirit in the club despite our league predicament.

Very good point, despite us being atrocious this season Malky definitely hasn't lost the dressing room and there does seem to be a great team spirit. Maybe (this is very hypothetical) sticking with Malcolm long-term allowing him to build a project could work.

If , and quite frankly when, we go down, sticking with Malcolm would be utterly ridiculous given his efforts as manager so far.
RateofKnots 53 Report post Posted January 8 If, and indeed when, the league is halted, which will be sooner rather than later, the SPFL will almost certainly ask lower league clubs to end the season. A 27 game season was always ambitious, 18 would have had much more leeway.

McCallum signing an extension may have more to do with who his employer is in his day job and less to do with team spirit.
