Come On Ye Mo - Montrose FC 2018/19

Recommended Posts

Turned into a decent enough game last night after Montrose started very brightly and could have been 1 or 2 up,played some good football knocking the ball around well.Cove huffed and puffed but we were well in control of the game before they made it 1-1 Just before half time.
Second half Cove looked more hungrier than montrose id say but we got the win and into the next round which is the main thing.Thought Matty Alan and Martin Fotheringham were the stand outs for the mo last night foxy especially his range of passing and through balls were tremendous.Jordan Millar should get a mention as well, played very well and saved a brilliant pen to win it for us.

Enjoyed the game and glad we came out victorious. With a fresh team from Saturday, Montrose started well but Cove are a decent side and was impressed by Connor Scully in middle of the park. Thought Montrose performed well in spells and particularly Foxy and Cavanagh will have given SP ideas for Saturday as both played well. As mentioned thought Ryan Ferguson was poor and would not be surprised to see him move on before end of transfer window.

Thought it was a good game. Ryan played well in the first half and then fell out of the game, to be fair he has hasn’t had a regular game and still looks like he is still getting fit after his long spell out due to his injury.
First half we totally controlled the game, but we lack any fire power up front. Two soft goals. The one from the corner due to us having 4 players on the half way line and no one picking up the runners. Thought the distribution from Millar was very good and had a solid game. Thought Matty and Liam played well at the back.

Overall I think we deserved the win.

Like many was surprised to see Liam at the back, but you could tell he was itching to get up the wing at any opportunity. When Steeves came on for him and he moved up a bit and got his goal, was chuffed for him. Best I've seen him in a while.

Great game by Cavannagh, and Foxy's wordly woulda been something had McK not been on the ball.

Couldn't be happier that it was MacKenzie who fluffed it for them, he had a very good game prior to that especially second half. All credit to Jordan for the fab pen save too.

From the starting 11, was SP taking it too seriously? Or just experimenting when it mattered less to give himself fresh ideas for the league campaign?

Thought scully was good as well,a bit rash at times with his tackle but hungry to get the ball back and play.

Supporters Club are doing a bus to Stranraer....  That'll give the lads a real boost.

Would have loved to tick that ground off the list but just can't afford it.

Hope somebody tells old Ian (can't remember his second name) and a couple of other old lads who can't get to away games if no bus. Ian was bemoaning the fact he couldna get there. Hamish as well, or is he allowed on the bus?

Car load of us Anglos going as well.

Surely he'll just walk there?

no need to worry about Hamish, he has got better train booking, route planning, hostel booking skills than than the Trip Advisor Owl. He's smarter than he looks!

Pretty sure Chairman G will have let Ian know what's what.

Stewart Petrie in the press today saying he's close to signing a Premiership right back on loan. Could this be Aaron Comrie? He's obviously been at Links Park before and Petrie said that move was held up by suspensions and injuries, which fits with Saints' defensive options over the past few weeks.

Would be excellent deal if it proves to be the case.

Yep, Ryan Harrington is the name I've heard. I would imagine St Johnstone will be wanting Comrie to play in the Championship for a while.

Whoever it is if he's even half as good as Cammy Ballantyne he'll do.

Spoke to a few Aberdeen supporting mates about him and he seems to be highly rated. He's also been included in a few match day squads for the Aberdeen first team I think so you imagine he has a bit about him.
