Kelty Hearts lowland league quest

None of the other teams were actively lobbying to go in to a league of their choice if they were relegated,  with their league threatening another league about access to cups if they didn't get their own way.

Brechin weren't lobbying . Because of their current situation of where they attract players from  and also from a geographic perspective , it made perfect sense to ask the possiblity of joining the LL should they be in that position . Brechin never threatened anyone. Whether or not any threats were made by any SPFL member  is a different matter. The SPFL categorically deny any such conversation and the LL chairman watered down  his initial statement and finished  with the words , make of that what you want. ..........which is hardly conclusive.

It could also be said that HL/LL declined to hold a play off to determine tier 5's candidate, instead of which those clubs chose to tug at heart strings and suggest that both should move up.

Sorry? In what way did the LL decline to hold a play off?

So changing a rule half way through a season Is acceptable? Why did Ken not propose this at the start of the season, is it because his club were in the shit?

I don't recall an actual  decison being  made but going by the outrage in the LL I assume there is no chance in hell of it being passed.

I think that’s a fair assessment.

No one knows when the proposal was made.  It could be that it was  only put to the LL mid season when it became apparent that Brechin were going to be bottom .  Only a suggestion as to state otherwise is pure speculation .

I  personally don't think it is acceptable to change rules mid season but don't see a problem in asking the question.

I'm a patient man,I cannot wait for seethe after seethe in the very near future of 1 club after the other assaulting League 2,just like Cove have just done,I.e Talbot,Kelty,Bonnyrigg,Kilwinning ,Brora etc

I can't recall any seethe at Cove winning the league.  Fair play to any club coming in and doing the same ...........just as long as they let the football do the talking. 😉

Cove twitter account and match reports seem to have had supporters of other league 2 clubs seething as well.

Well maybe seething is the wrong word, certainly point and laugh moments seem to be common.

Nah , that was just light hearted banter.

Big difference between asking the question and getting your SPFL pals to threaten the LL. This actually did happen and if as you say it's only speculation where is the official denial from the SPFL? Not one person has come out with a statement countering the claims made by Kelty and backed up by the LL Chairman. If it didn’t happen as they have described do you think for one minute they would just sit in silence.

Your actually trying to misrepresent what the LL chairman said. He clearly stated threats were made, nothing was watered down, bullying was then mentioned and that is where the comment ‘make of that what you will’ was made. Who from the SPFL is categorically denying it? Wouldn’t be Ken by any chance?

It appears we will never get to the bottom of what actually happened as there have been so many tales of deception and  double dealing through this whole murky affair.  Who do you trust?  Who's story is genuine?  Is anyone genuine?  Is football getting used? Can football ever go back to being about the football? Was it ever just about the football?

The only certainty is that if and when football does start , it will be a much more hostile environment than it ever was before.
