Thought he won the ball. Add to that it was the ref who was behind the play and couldn’t possibly see if McCormack won the ball or not that gave it not the linesman who was in the better position. The ref guessed. We shouldn’t be surprised the standard of refereeing is brutal. It does appear fitnesses doesn’t seem to be a requirement either. His reaction to the decision is telling. Just look how long it takes the referee to come into shot. He’s been closer to the half way line than he is to the tackle when he makes that decision.
