It’s football, club comes 1st always. It’s probably right to say it’s a new era and without any disrespect at all players will come and go if it’s in the clubs best interests. If theres better players available and it suits the club then we will look at it, we can’t and don’t want to stand still. The fee received is a record since iv been involved in this capacity at Kelty.

Stuart Cargill for example, 31 in December, not playing regular (where does he get in the team at this minute) out of contract in the summer, free to talk to clubs in January as regards to a free transfer, he wanted to go to play and accepted with the formation and Fash banging them in it would be difficult. The deal very much suited the club to balance the books and the player.  Arguably the ultimate club legend without a shadow of a doubt and he leaves a hero to everyone including my sons and me but could he displace Fash? Does he suit the high press for 90mins at his age? We defend from the front for 90mins, can Stuart do that now especially on the big pitches away from home? There’s loads of dynamics to these decisions which aren’t taken lightly all for the good of the club, business wise and the team, it’s horrible but it’s football when well liked players leave. He will go on to play, enjoy his football and bang them in for the Bell, no doubts.

The squad is big, theres been investment in that squad and people used to playing naturally will want to go and get game time.  We are doing some great work behind the scenes on the business front, again in the clubs interests. We sold a player this week who hasn’t been here since last season that will be announced soon as going to a Fife Junior team, the fee we received was the exact same fee we paid for Cammy Russell from Airdrie. That’s very sound business.

Any news on this? Have I missed it?

Would imagine it's Willis Hare. Very good signing for any of the Fife junior teams currently.

Elliot Ford listed as transferred to Thornton Hibs on the website. Assuming that’s who they are talking about?

Never even clicked that it was Elliot.  Great signing for Thornton!

When did Ben reilly sign?

Not sure but he might have been the trialist on the bench last week vs the Colts

I paid a visit to Victoria Park for today's LL game.

It was as one sided as the 0-7 scoreline suggests, but VOL didn't help themselves with some woeful defending.  The long grass didn't help either side. so it wasn't much of a spectacle.

BF had the luxury of being able to sub Austin and Husband shortly after the hour mark and save them for more challenging games ahead.

Bit of a blow to lose Dylan Easton for the next couple of months. Think he would have won us a few of the tighter games with his skillset.

Looking forward to Tuesday night. Haven't seen us play Spartans and look like winning yet!

Didn’t make yesterday but highlights suggest it was a coo field they played on

The Vale are a very hard working club, and whilst the pitch may not be great they deserve a bit more respect than your comment.

The pitch wasn’t great but it wasn’t Vales fault. The council who should have cut the pitch hadn’t, and the very long grass was cut with a hand mower Friday night/Saturday morning by a committee man. Top effort, hopefully when we are back in a few weeks the grass has had a proper cut by the big mower.

Not disrespecting anyone neebs just stating a fact, know all teams do all they can to get it on for match day and all that goes with it , certainly didn’t mean any offence

Comfortable win for Kelty who were never really troubled.  Given the gulf in finances Vale were never likely to take anything from this game but were guilty of horrendous errors for 4 of the goals . Good teams will always punish mistakes so well played Kelty.

Regarding the pitch, it wasn't great but from what I gather they were once again let down by Scottish Borders Council  who are paid by the Vale to cut the grass. A flock of sheep would be cheaper and likely have far more sense than anyone from SBC.

Best team I've saw this season and I include Bonnyrigg. Different level from the Vale. The Vale unlucky with an effort prior to the first goal but as has been said, you can't make mistakes at this level.

A mention in todays paper of Kelty being interested in Willie Gibson who is being released from his contract with us due to training schedule/business interests clashing. Although now 35 fitness is not a problem for him & can still play a bit.

A short term deal might make sense with Easton being out for us for a bit!  Havn't seen Gibson for a few years but sure he'd do a decent job in the LL.

Not 1 ounce of truth in this, doesn’t he live way down the borders or Stranraer way?

Colts team  when they have the ball are decent to watch, they looked good going forward especially first half with the Kelty defence a bit hesitant at times. As leomessi84 says Kelty had some decent chances as well, hit bar three times, missed penalty, home keepers made some good saves as well. Young lad from Dunfermline did pretty well though he was subbed at half time.

Was injured, been having treatment at Pars all week, should be back at NCP this week.

Stays in Dumfries.  More likely sign on with Annan or the likes down there.
