Kelty Hearts lowland league quest

Recommended Posts

Good to battle back to get the draw, the award of the free kick for the equaliser looked very soft so maybe a bit fortunate there. Will be interesting to see how Kelty fair with two tough away games this week, still think a defender is needed.

Not nearly as soft as the free kick Star were awarded to take the lead.

Looking forward to tonight’s game, not been to whitehill since East Stirlingshire beat them 1-0 in the Scottish cup a number of years ago. Should be a good game.

Agree with that both probably not free kicks but hey ho just gotta get used to it being a wee bit more namby pamby than the juniors , wished Kelty would be a wee bit more direct sometimes and defo need a commanding , talking , centre half as think star had 3 efforts on goal on Saturday n notched 2

some result tonight ! Matt Gay, Brian Ritchie ( 2-0 at half time) followed by Stephen Husband Hat trick, and rounded off by Stuart Cargill. tbh didn.t see that result coming , a  good confidence booster for the boys moving forward.

Well quite a few of us ww lads definitely seen it coming.

Massive gulf between the 2 sides.

Best of luck for the rest of the season it's an unpredictable league but the top 4 from last season and yourselves are just that wee bit above the rest of us imo.

Look forward to get yer hospitality package in February though. I take it we just contact the club.

Cheers,  being newbies in the league we will have the odd blip, but hopefully we give a good account of Our self's. WW I'm sure will stick in and improve as the season progresses , good luck for the season ahead, we look forward to you visiting NCP in February, yeah contact the club and they will keep you right.

Not sure about that to be honest.  They seem to be on a slippery slope under their current managerial regime.

Kelty were good last night, reminded me of a few games last year when they score early the score is never in any doubt, actually looked like they had a rocket up their arse after Saturday.

Husband is just a step above at this level

Big Errol was really good at CB again too - could  have solved a potential issue there with him at the back.  Lot's of pace and steps out really well with the ball.  Sure he will be tested a lot more against higher level teams but promising so far.

Matty Gay looks to have added something different - his movement is great and he always seems to be in a goal scoring position.  I was not totally convinced by our recruitment this pre season but I look to have been dead wrong.
