Kelty Hearts lowland league quest

They do actually. The north region and what remains of the east region are probably going to be HL feeders from next season onwards and a lot of WoS clubs have retained SJFA membership with a view to future SJC participation. How long that will last remains to be seen but the SJFA is almost certainly still going to be around next season.

I know that, I was engaged in a somewhat childish attempt to wind gaswork up 😀,given his hatred of the pyramid.

Shit show making the juniors look good this nonsense.

Funnily enough I recall Kelty's final fixture in the Juniors back in 2017 wasn't even announced until 10 days before by the East Region.

As has been stated already the ties under SFA control Brora v Kelty have been confirmed BUT the SPFL controlled ties e.g club 42 v HL/LL will be decided at tomorrow’s (Mon 19th) meeting, so it is still very much unknown if it will go ahead until after that meeting.

What way that will go who knows, the SPFL have proved they are a law unto themselves, if it is a no I would imagine they have done their due diligence for any potential legal claims from Brora/Kelty.

Hopefully the fact that the SFA have approved the pyramid play-off games means that they are happy with the two tier 5 champions and if the SPFL did cancel the League Two play-off final and it went to the judicial panel, there's a decent chance they'd rule in Brora/Kelty's favour.

Isn't it usually the big team gets to play at home second leg? So at Kelty first game at Brora second game?

No. A draw is made each season for which league will be home in the first leg. They never let us know when that is, the result of it just 'appears' earlier in the season. I've always thought it would be fairer to alternate it - one year have the HFL club home first, next season have the LFL club home first. But nope, it's drawn afresh each year.

The best place to check for it each season is on the Lowland League's website. Go to the Fixtures & Results tab, then scroll down to the bottom for the "Important Dates In The Lowland League" bit.

That has been saying for a while that this season it's the northerners playing the first leg at Home.

On Kelty's website home page the Next Match feature says the first leg is at Kelty, but if you click on the same site's Results & Fixtures tab, they list the first game as at Brora, with the second one at Kelty.

It has said that since January: https://web.archive.org/web/20210123081732/https://slfl.co.uk/fixtures-results-lowland-league/

And in the early part of 2018/19 it said HL v LL first yet it was the other way around in the actual play-off: https://web.archive.org/web/20181023092805/https://slfl.co.uk/fixtures-results-lowland-league/

HOW MANY DODGY PENALTY AWARDS ?

No dodgy penalties - all justified, even if they were on the soft side.                                                Even the Brora commentators agreed that they were penalties.

Kelty were a far better team than Brora & the commentators acknowledged that Brechin would be more worried about playing Kelty.
