leomessi1984
Like I said earlier today there are a load of games to go! We were always going to drop points somewhere. I would expect a real reaction over the next few games if we are as good as everyone thinks.

Nimmo's Notes
Colts aren't far away from being a really good team, probably the most skillful side counter attacking. Couldn't get control of the midfield, for long spells yesterday, so maybe that's where they need to strengthen. Easier said than done though. Kelty maybe lacked a wee bit subtlety in the final third, with so many shots being blocked. Makes for an interesting league. On another note, I had a great conversation, in the bar, with Gordon McKenzie, father of the Colts Chairman. Gordon played for Shire in the late 50s/early 60s and I had already interviewed him for the programme last season. Probably enough material now for a part two!

Kelheart
We probably deserved to win yesterday but didn’t and we will win games that we didn’t deserve to win hopefully so I’m ready for the rollercoaster of the LL it’s brilliant

The booking for McKirdy was baffling. Wasn’t even a foul for me as it’s the cleanest you’ll see someone kick the ball. Plenty baffling decisions from the referee yesterday for both sides, certainly not one of the better refs at this level! I personally thought the pull on Austin in the first half was a stick on penalty, colts were happy to sit back and play counter attacking, they have pace up there and caught us out. Could have been a point gained if Reilly had managed to wipe out the colts player on the far side.
craigiemack
Went along yesterday as like all Shire fans I am completely #obsessed with Kelty. I don't think the conditions helped either team but both looked a bit slow. Do Kelty fans think Tuesdays heroics had an effect? Our cup tie last year was the beginning of our collapse. The new centre back looked a bit shaky and was no surprise he was taken off at HT,i always feel that when teams get money, ourselves included, they spent too much money on attackers and forget the importance of a solid defense. Cumbernauld certainly cut through Kelty a good few times in the first half. The penalty changed the game, if Kelty scored they win that comfortably because Cumbernauld looked out on their feet after the hour mark. Agree with Pipedreamers post, Austins claim in the first half was a solid call, if he went down he gets it. His goal was well taken and even with 5 to go you still felt like it was Keltys game then poor old Thomas Reilly escorts the winger by him to win it for Cumbernauld. I'm sure both teams feel like they should've won it, especially with the two sitters Colts missed at 1-0. The result adds some drama to the league, if Cumbernauld win on Friday, are they title challengers? Also, my head is still sore from the racket of that drum from the 'Ultras', i don't know anything about music but if drums can be out of tune then that is what i imagine it to sound like. And someone please tell them that Cumbernauld isn't wonderful.

McKirdy booking was shocking. Won the ball and the boy ran into his tackle. Madness. The keeper off his line comment was my fault. It looked it he was way off from the stand and I wasn't the only one that thought that. Benefit of highlights, both usual view and from behind the goal showed he wasn't. It's the way he dived forward to save it made it look that way for me. Edited August 20, 2019 by RampantFM

It’s probably right to say it’s a new era and without any disrespect at all players will come and go if it’s in the clubs best interests. If theres better players available and it suits the club then we will look at it, we can’t and don’t want to stand still. The fee received is a record since iv been involved in this capacity at Kelty. Stuart Cargill for example, 31 in December, not playing regular (where does he get in the team at this minute) out of contract in the summer, free to talk to clubs in January as regards to a free transfer, he wanted to go to play and accepted with the formation and Fash banging them in it would be difficult. The deal very much suited the club to balance the books and the player. Arguably the ultimate club legend without a shadow of a doubt and he leaves a hero to everyone including my sons and me but could he displace Fash? Does he suit the high press for 90mins at his age? We defend from the front for 90mins, can Stuart do that now especially on the big pitches away from home? There’s loads of dynamics to these decisions which aren’t taken lightly all for the good of the club, business wise and the team, it’s horrible but it’s football when well liked players leave. He will go on to play, enjoy his football and bang them in for the Bell, no doubts. The squad is big, theres been investment in that squad and people used to playing naturally will want to go and get game time. We are doing some great work behind the scenes on the business front, again in the clubs interests. We sold a player this week who hasn’t been here since last season that will be announced soon as going to a Fife Junior team, the fee we received was the exact same fee we paid for Cammy Russell from Airdrie. That’s very sound business. Any news on this? Have I missed it?

Footballfirst
I paid a visit to Victoria Park for today's LL game. It was as one sided as the 0-7 scoreline suggests, but VOL didn't help themselves with some woeful defending. The long grass didn't help either side. so it wasn't much of a spectacle. BF had the luxury of being able to sub Austin and Husband shortly after the hour mark and save them for more challenging games ahead.
leomessi1984
Bit of a blow to lose Dylan Easton for the next couple of months. Think he would have won us a few of the tighter games with his skillset. Looking forward to Tuesday night. Haven't seen us play Spartans and look like winning yet!
