Kelty Hearts lowland league quest

Recommended Posts

The young Pars were sharp tonight and Smith & Morrison stood out. You can see they have played at a good level. The first goal was a screamer.

Kelty looked like a side still gelling and were punished for some mistakes. Had most of the ball but no real end product apart from two off the line and hitting the post.

Surprised by the result last night. Thought it would have been the reverse. Same Dunfermline team that lost 4-0 to CSS.

Is Barry back to his best again.

Nonsense. Completely different team to the one that lost to CSS with 5 or 6 fringe players from the first team in for the Pars.

There were quite a few older youths playing for DA at Kelty than the side at CSS. Still would have expected a home win mind you.

Still plenty positives from the game...

Solid minutes for Danny Ashe and Cernazzo, both really steady looking players.

McKenzie in goal looked comfortable already.

The team does look like it'll be another 2/3 games away from finding a rhythm but not unexpected with so many new faces.

Though all 3 of the pars goals were exceptional last night and a group of boys who have been together a few years just had the edge in the first 25 mins, which was played at a rapid pace. Heard there season starts at the weekend so no surprise how sharp they were.

It is just one game, but it was a surprise. Yesterday's result I mean.

Almost all the Dunfermline team were teenagers. Some seventeen and others just turned eighteen. They haven't all played together for a few years. Most of them will not get near the first team on regular basis, but as you say, it is early days for the Kelty team. A lot of new faces. Fingers crossed they gel quickly, just not against us in the Fife Cup.

Standards slipping 🤣

Just wondered how strong the team was.

Manderson

MacAulay,  Carstairs, Woods, Philp

Campbell, Ritchie, Reilly, Mutch

Cargill, Andrew

second half had Easton, Linton, Husband, Douglas, Dodd and Ashe come on.

Easton had a penalty saved before Mutch latched onto a slack pass back to score the winning goal on 85 mins.

Sounds like a tight game! Cheers.
