With all the moaning and groaning about the lack of commercialism, marketing sense and positivity for the season ahead, i would love to set up a marketing team, made up if talented supporters, who can spare a bit (not too much) time to put some ideas together and bring them to life.

I'm thinking along the lines of the socials (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), so content would need to be created, updated and released consistently.

We as fans should be getting whipped up into a frenzy about the season ahead, and every season beyond.

We should be bombarded by emails, links, media and messages about supporting the team, the season ahead, all in it together, United, etc etc etc.

Instead we are waiting patiently for a trickle of possibly some smidging of a rumour in the bloody Ayrshire Post.

It's 2019

Engage

If the club can't do it, maybe it can via us?

Thoughts???

I like your post ...something along the lines of when you buy your season ticket you can have the option  too buy a panda pals season ticket that will be shared out between local schools. Say maybe we could get 100 kids season tickets out too schools that kids can win a comp too get there hands on a ticket . Boom possible fan for life .

As long as Doolan plus another striker like maybe Rudden on loan or someone like that on loan.

Is Ross Stewart available on loan?

He would be a good option: tall and can play with the ball at his feet. Could also give us another option to mix things up a bit.

Lachlan addressed volunteerings a few times during the Q&A saying they always welcome people willing to add their skill set. Basically said either get in touch with him directly and he will point you in the right direction or email the club's main address.
He also said during that Q&A that the free tickets to school thing is a bee in his bonnet as it is £15 for a season ticket and the club are already in and out of schools on a daily basis. He feels that the club do more community outreach than any other in Scotland.

Interesting figures from @Superhursy7. Almost a 40% increase year on year. Given how many games were moved for tv from Saturday and our stinking form in the second half of the season I actually think those figures are pretty good! Admittedly, there are definitely more away fans in the Championship vs League One.

Looking back, last season is probably our highest average attendance in the last 10-15 years.

I would have to agree with the above.

2,500 - 3,000 has been a "very good" / "big" crowd in the 30+ years that I've been watching Ayr. 1,500 - 2,000 has probably been the "norm" with 800 - 1,200 our lower levels when we've been hanging around League 1.

I've said it before but I actually think the crowds last season were pretty good and it's no coincidence that our crowds tailed off not only because of our form dip but because of the Friday night and televised matches.

If we can sell around 1,000 or over season tickets, then that will stand us in good stead for similar crowds next season.

I've had two different people message me today both saying that there will be a new signing on Monday so my hopes are officially up.
Edit:  that's 3 folk now and they have all named Kris Doolan so must be something in it.
The scenes if it's Shankland, Rose and Smith who have thought long and hard over the summer and decided they will rip up any pre contact's and what to end there carers at super Ayr.

If we are ever to move our crowds above the 3,000 mark we will really need to do something with the ground . A new stand on the north bank with all the bells and whistles would bring in the family market . However it all comes back to cash in the end ....

This is true, personally I don't understand why and I also don't like it admitting it but it does seem to be the case that with seated stadiums and better facilities more fans will indeed attend matches.

People must be becoming soft................

The bigger and better supported teams have more money to do up their stadiums in the first place. It’s a bit of a leap in itself to say that seats attract more fans - just need to look at Hamilton and Livi.

Hamilton have never had good crowds even back in the old Douglas Park days and really I cant count Livingston as a proper football club . Ayr on the other hand have had big followings so it should be  possible to encourage them . Only a few seasons ago we had 10,000 at Hampden for the semi final .

The point is that doing up the stadium with some more seats isn’t in itself going to lead to an influx of support.

You are correct ,its only one of a number of things needing done , the most important being a good team on the field .

Can I just point out that in the days before bumping their bills, Livi had over 5,000 ST holders.

The frustrating thing is March 2002 we were at Hampden twice in week for the league cup final and Scottish cup semi how many thousands followed us to those games? that's when we should have pushed on and kept those fans but we lost that momentum and will never get it back I'm afraid.
