stevep56
Tonights game felt very similar to the losses to QP, Falkirk, & Partick Thistle (did not see the Dundee game). Nothing much to be encouraged about from Ayr. Arbroath just looked a more skilful and better team. Hope the BBC don't show us again this season....

Really should have improved the back four during the January transfer window. Everything seems to be hitting and hoping from the back. Thought he lost his man at the opener and certainly got caught napping for the second.

Despite having completely failed, their turnover is still six times that of Ayr's best financial season in two decades. They're getting over 10000 at home games.
Hawkeye the Gnu
As an outsider looking in, albeit from just up the hill, you seem to be getting everything right off the park and definitely heading in the right direction, but, by Christ you need a new manager.
Lochwood
What in the name of suffering has Wrexham got to do with our team dear oh dear, the bottom line is you can’t go into games like tonight and not accept you need to win the battles and second balls we did none of that tonight except as usual the first 15 minutes then disappeared , Bullen thought that was down to Mcaleer with his omission and not a lot of people would have argued with that as said before a lot more than that was the problem tonight, at best we get 3/4 and we will not come out of that well.
Peil
That result can't come as any surprise, we have no plan b, plan a isn't even clear tbh. The players retreat into shells when faced with any difficulty, no self belief. If it wasn't for fluking on a striker who got off to a flyer, we'd be in deep shit. Once teams worked him out, we've struggled. If you go back to 4 goals in 13 games (5 in 15 if you go back to end of November) for the guy, and somehow a section of the fanbase thinks someone will rock up with 5 numbers + the bonus ball for him. I'm not saying we need a Bill Barr splurge, we do need to invest in the infrastructure to provide a base for the club, but by christ that team needs a good half dozen players

diegomarahenry
Sitting watching this tonight and thinking, we really need to change this, O'Conner and McGuire have been flat, Dipo is chasing his tail, Ashford is running around a lot but has no support and immediately has two players on him. Then I had a look at the subs. Plan A is shite and plan B is worse.
rb123!
Thing that got me tonight was not as much the directness of the play since the pitch was poor, but more the manner in which we tried to apply it. We weren't even taking touches and then hitting it long from a rolling ball on the ground, there was times we were literally just shelling it back up in the air on the volley without any precision or thought into where it was aimed for. It was scarily back to prime Hoppyball IMO at times. Tell you something Mathie won't be happy at seeing that sort of football

The thing is Duffy actually played good football until he was given the job full time. In actual fact that’s probably what saved us last season

ComradeDiego
Having had time to reflect on it, there was spells last night where we tried to move the ball about and played alright. Had chances, didn’t take them then ended up losing cheap goals because of awful defending. Same old story.
Kempes
I’ve watched a few of your games but yet to see McGuire make much of a contribution, yet Bullen probably thought he would make a big difference over the last few months of the season. Thought McAllister was decent tonight, especially going forward. Maybe having Mullen back would help?

Just didn't impact games like he did earlier in the season.

I broadly agree with this but we didn't really create any clear cut chances it was more like half chances. We were shafted by some shocking defending. We weren't even close to the Arbroath attackers. If anything Arbroath could have had a couple more rather than us scoring. Edit - Other than the Dempsey chance which was more like a half chance. I can't really remember us really testing Gaston.
