D'Jaffo
Ashford won’t be dropped. He’ll have games like last night where he doesn’t do much going forward but I thought he was fine overall. I think Bullen has maybe realised the guy is never a striker and is instead using him in the same way he used McKenzie or Maxwell. FWIW I think he’s fine in that role but also good enough to not look too out of place in midfield.
Nelson
Just watched the highlights. Am I imagining it, but were some people having a go at the goalkeeper for the 2nd? Nuts.

I don’t dislike him, he adds pace and energy to the team but his finishing leaves a lot to be desired and I believe could be worked on. I just didn’t see that being his best game since he arrived as bullen put it. There is definitely a place for him

Trogdor
It's been a while since I've enjoyed highlights. I've just watched mattman's video and the QP highlights. Good to see Dipo on the scoresheet. Second half was like liquid football with the opportunities created. It must have been a great game for those that were there.
ryanayr1987
Their second goal was unstoppable. The first I reckon mcadams would have saved it tbh

Hawk89
Well needed early points on the board. Feared the worst at half time, to come back from 2 down and not only draw but, win. That takes heart. Kudos to the lads sticking with it.

Popular Post North British
Had a few beers in the house when I got back from the game last night so just up , the morning coffee tastes soooo sweet today , still buzzing from it .Just sometimes when watching a mid level club like Ayr United nights like last night come along , so it’s important to enjoy them ,these are the games that fuel the engine of a club . Much more than a tidy three points will have been gained last night . Is everything in the garden rosey and perfect ? Of course not ! However this club is moving forward , it’ll be slow at first but nevertheless the trajectory is forward . For the tut tut brigade try to enjoy the journey . Everybody knows XYZ is needed , we’ve been over it a thousand times .but last night a bunch of lads on under £40k a year rolled their sleeves up and refused to be beaten . That was your team . Take some joy out of it . There will be road bumps along the way , just not last night . Last night will live long in the memory.

Would have had a better chance if he'd moved his feet instead of flopping on the floor like a dehydrating salmon. The ball was in the air for ages. Still, doesn't matter now and it didn't cost us. Should add that on the highlights it looks a tougher save than I thought watching it live. Edited August 6, 2022 by Iain -

I know most managers like to talk shite but come off it. Young Bryden had too decent chances in that first half - the first. a diving header resulting in a great save; the second was a one-on-one with the keeper and a wild smack over the bar. He'll learn from that performance and I know Bully will encourage him along the way - keep going young man, and I know you will. As for Simon Murray and his goal celebration right in front of us. GIRFUY. I hope yer beer afterwards tasted shite. Brilliant support despite the disappointment of the first half. Second half celebrations were magical - onwards!

All I’ve seen is the “better fans” absolutely desperate to get it up the fans who had the cheek to moan about the first half performance, instead of just enjoying the comeback. Stop making things up in your head.
