Anderson is gone. Let’s live with it. Let’s see how many goals he scores between now and the end is season. Not many I suspect.

Hopefully enough to send the vermin down.

To say the views among our fans is "varied" would be understatement of the year !!

Some think we have good players but a useless Manager, some think we've got poor players and a poor Manager, some believe that the Manager has done ok in the circumstances but the players aren't helping and are underachieving and there's even a few who believe that the both the managers and players are promising and that it could all come together sooner or later.

We've then got some who think we're looking at relegation, others think we're mid table certainties and some believe that we've still a great chance of the promotion play offs.

AAH, the delights of supporting the mighty Ayr United.........

Yes, could you imagine what a fantasy midfield of Robbie Crawford, Chris Aitken and Paul Sheerin would do to some !!

Early grave stuff.

Another game off - at this rate we'll need a pre-season before we play a league game again 😐

Yes because he's not upfront isolated on his own, feeding off hoof balls which are ending up about 10 yards either side of where he was positioned. Think with a 3 of Walsh/Smith/McCowan behind him we might have got a bit more out of him.

However the fundamental issue for me is Kerr seems hellbent on playing 1 upfront on his own, which seems to be "modern" way to play football compared to the old fashioned 4/4/2. In our last two games with Wright upfront on his own i've already seen instances, Hearts game especially, where he held up the ball well and the nearest person to lay if off to was nowhere to be seen.

Think Kerr should try Smith upfront with Wright to do a similar role which Moffatt did alongside Shankland. Would be intrigued to know how many goals we scored in McCall's last 30 games compared to Kerrs first 30. I'd expect the difference to be quite staggering...

Re: the last part, by my reckoning the last 30 games under McCall (starting with the 0-1 v Talbot and ending with 4-0 v Alloa saw 45 goals scored in 30 games.    We then scored 5 in 3 under Stewart / Kerr, and in the first 30 games under Kerr (starting with the 1-2 v Dundee and most recently the 0-1 v Hearts) we have scored 36.

Interestingly we have only failed to score once more in those 30 game samples under Kerr (8 blanks compared to 7).  Both of them are actually helped quite a bit by Betfred Cup - McCall got 7 v East Stirling and Kerr got 5 v Albion Rovs.

We actually only managed 1 goal in the previous 4 games under McCall  so IF you were to use a 34 game sample instead of 30 the scores would be pretty close (46-42).

Yes I'm sad enough to keep track of results / scorers among other stats haha.

Good post , also take into account that under McCalls 34 games we had a settled team   who had played together for a good majority of those game , where as Kerr has mainly had to gel a practically new team in around half of his reign , yes we have not performed to our capabilities at the start of season but can see some green shoots beginning to come through , if you look throughout the league with the exception of Hearts and Raith Rovers I think most teams have underperformed at various times so far

Yeah, Dundee away and now Raith away. I’d be happy for the Scottish Cup to be scrapped this season and the free weeks used for teams to catch up on covid/weather related postponements

One thing I’ll say in defence of Kerr and the players is in these current circumstances it must be a lot more difficult to bond with team mates etc. Where as in normal circumstances they will car share and I’d imagine socialise away from football.

I think this season is a write off. Won’t go up or down I don’t think. This is Kerrs first full season in charge and with COVID it’s been a real testing one. I think he should be offered a new deal and that would hopefully in turn show the players who may be uncertain about their futures to sign on again. To be honest, there’s not much in the way of decent managers available and I’d rather see Kerr continue his vision with the club than start from scratch. I don’t think he’s a million miles away from getting a really good side to hopefully challenge that little bit further for promotion.

I think that is a very valid point Fraser , we seem to come across as a very friendly club off the field  and many players have mentioned that in the past , we have 5 players this season who have moved into rented accommodation and the only contact they have with any other player is the on field training sessions and then home to empty houses , must be tough for them ( along with any other teams who have players in similar position )

Are Corrie Ndaba and Brett McGavin living together given they are team mates at Ipswich?

No kidding. It seems like a really stop/start season but probably has been no worse than others. I'm even contemplating watching the Doonhammers on the TV tonight.

They are all in separate accommodation due to most being 1 bedrooms

This season is going to end like a junior season, Twill think they are safe in a play-off position forgetting about Inverness and their twelve games in hand.
