Sturgeon allowing pilot events to go ahead at the weekend, however states there after no fans will be allowed until at least 5th October at earliest. Further pilot evens to follow on a 'case by case basis'.

All very vauge....

Doesn’t sound like I’m going to get much use out my season ticket.

Still think early 2021 will be the target IMO, all planned lockdown easings have been 'paused'. Doesn't sound great for the future, hindsight is a wonderful thing and it probably shows that we should have been playing some form of football the last couple of months when cases had gone to very low numbers. Always knew it would be our luck that just as we return in October with the winter coming in that it would begin to go pearshaped.

I’ve gave up hope of being at Somerset this side of Christmas. I just hope the season actually starts on October 17th and is able to be played to a finish.

Not vague at all. Just means that they'll continue with test events. Case by case just means they'll be trying different scenarios to see what works once they determine any teething issues with this weekends games.

It can be possible to have some people but it would be difficult. How far are you allowed to travel? if you are from an area with stricter regulations would you be able to attend?

realistically, they couldn't just open the ground to, say, 500 fans and tell them to stay apart, they would have to allocate a section of terrace or a seat, how would you coordinate that with groups attending together? It would be pointless getting in a car or travelling by train together, then having to stand at a different barrier.

Entry, they could open a big gate at an end of the somerset road end and temperature test individuals, saving using the turnstiles or being in close proximity to the operator. it could be done wearing masks in the open air, contact-less. People can then make their way to their allocated area from there. Having one way systems on the terrace and leaving corridors for people to make their way to and from their allocated space.

If the crowd numbers are limited, season tickets will be important for fans and clubs ability to manage the situation. If there was a function that season ticket holders could confirm attendance, meaning pay-per-game tickets could be sold if a season ticket holder wasn't attending but still giving the season ticket holder streaming access.

Sick and tired of Sturgeons attitude.  Her government is driving our game towards disaster.  How the hell can it be safe to open pubs and restaurants but not safe to have limited crowds at football?  How long can clubs like Ayr realistically survive with no match day income?

It is being treated the same as live events and controlling them. Every country has done exactly the same thing

Surely easy to understand how a football stadium with thousands of people in attendance is more dangerous than a pub/restaurant?

Nope.  Typical home crowd at Ayr is less than 2k in a stadium that can hold over 10,000.  Out in the open air, wearing a face mask if required.  It’s an insult to people’s intelligence to say that’s less safe than being in a crowded pub, a sweaty gym or sealed inside an aeroplane.

There were 500 people at Murrayfield a couple of weeks back for a Rugby match, so that’s patently not true.

They are doing test events, like every other country. They are not allowing people to congregate on mass in any setting apart from a test event. Like every country.

Pubs have a limit of patrons they can host, they have to follow guidelines on service and movement around their establishment. Gyms have a set of guidelines to follow, airplanes have distancing rules, the air is circulated, passenger numbers are reduced.

Football is being treated exactly the same as other industries in terms of risk and protocol for public safety.

That's a test event, purpose was to see X number of people, and how they access seats, half time, going home etc.

It was low on purpose and not meant to reflect a proper distanced crowd.
