Would imagine Ferguson will sign, surely McCall wouldn’t arse him about if he wasn’t sure he couldn’t offer him a contract? Positive Murdoch played as well. Again I would imagine he’ll probably be offered something. That just leaves a goalie (McCrorie) and maybe another defender.

Nice to see the stories about Murdoch confirmed with him playing today would be another good progressive signing, any one at the game able to say how Ecrepont, Murdoch, Hardie and Hare-Reid played?

Hard to judge today ,

MURDOCH

Plenty of runnning about ,took up good positions off the ball , always looking for a short pass

ECREPONT

last 20 mins , good positional play , made himself available on overlaps , not afraid to tackle

HARVIE

looked ok , up and down wing good solid tackler likes to run with  ball and not afraid to tell others what to do

HARE- REID

good communication with defenders , thought he commanded  his box , one really good save, picked a few crosses out the air , no chance with goal came off line to cover for pass over the top and forward lobbed him

Interesting fact about today’s game is that we played 4 quarters , ref stopped game in 25 and 70 mins to allow teams to have a water break , who would have ever thought you had to stop a game in Forfar to allow players to rehydrate due to warm weather conditions , first time in about 40 years I have attended a Forfar Ayr game without a jacket on

Interesting interview from McCall, just seems like yesterday he was doing the one after the last game of the season.

Hoping for the goalie to be signed on Tuesday however sounds sketchy.

Hopes to have Murdoch and Ferguson signed on Thursday/Friday.

No mention of the absence of Bell or Kerr.

Seems to be a closed door game on Saturday but no detail of opposition or location.

I’m guessing Bell and Kerr were left out to give the younger lads and Ferguson a chance.

Can anyone who was at the game tell me why McCall went 3 at the back? Was he forced to or was he just testing it out?

Must have just been testing it out , as he still had 4 defenders on pitch in Rose, Harvie,Ferguson and Ecrepont

also meant to mention there were more Ayr players and management team than Ayr fans today
