Don’t argue gents.  JML and Mullin were both pish today.  Though I would still argue that our tactics are doing nothing to help them.  We make no effort to spread the play or pass the ball through midfield.

Fully agree with this too btw. The wide players had no chance first half.

Seeing performances like today give me the fear that our season could just fade away and we finish 6th or 7th. Lose next week and we could be 5th by end of next weekend. Or win next week and still be in the hunt.
Im not really sure what the answer is, I think we’re missing Murdoch badly. Reece and Daire to start for me against an in form Raith side

Funny thing is you could tell how the game was going to play out after 15 mins, right down to chucking subs on at the end and actually being a bit more attacking. Seen it all too many times before. And that goal was pretty similar to the last one that came down that side too, was just as bad with the same culprits involved.

Uncomfortable question..

Have we really improved that much under Bullen?  There’s certainly more character and work effort from the team.  But is the apparent progress mainly due to a Rolls Royce of a centre forward carrying a mediocre team combined with the general standard of the division coming back to meet us?  It’s certainly the weakest championship I can remember for a long time.

Simple answer is a resounding yes.

Pros from today: McAleer looked much better in his cameo and JML definitely cannot start next week.

Cons: Mullin hasn't kicked a ball since Cove and Kirk seems to have caught the long ball bug!

As for those saying Mullin has been poor...Yes he has, however he at least has some credit in the bank.

Reading is torture at the moment. McAllister an easy motm.

JML being pish is a Pro?  Glass is half full on that one!

Grim viewing 1st half. Far too many long balls at times and some of our passing was awful.

First touches looked a problem too often. McGinty seemed to give away a throw in under no pressure that led to their goal.

2nd half was an improvement, particularly O'connor coming on. Offered something for us going forward instantly and bizarre why he didn't start.

Well that was pish. Completely dominated the 2nd half but woeful in the final 3rd. So many players had off days. JML needs to benched. McAlear still not up to speed. Mullin had a poor game etc etc. Somerset has been so quiet in recent weeks. Away teams are making much more noise than us and even Bullen was trying to get the crowd to gee up late on

On the plus side I had a brief chat with big Markus. Nice fella. That's about the only positive from today

Teams now know that when they press our back 4 we resort to pumping balls to no one because we have absolutely no out ball. There’s nothing on in behind down the line and none of the midfield want a short ball to feet so Dipo’s head is the target.

It must have been obvious in the latter half of last season when Bullen barely improved us after the worst 2 managers in Ayr’s history that he was not going to be anything special. In the last few weeks however, several players have went backwards. Kirk, Dempsey, Mullin. I don’t see how he turns this round.

1. Badly missing Murdoch

2. McGinty brainfart cost us the goal

3. Dipo has dried up and nobody else is stepping up to score goals or even look like scoring

4. Bullen's team selection today was really poor so that lies firmly at his door

JML cost us the goal IMO, didn’t track his man

This take is getting boring tbh - he offered miles more than Mullin who spent the day crossing it out the pitch for the second week running.

What did JML offer at all today? Mullin was poor today but at least he’s shown quality over the past few weeks. Whenever we playd down  JMLs wing he either goes backwards or gets muscled off the ball. His Time is up.

O’Connor has stunk the place out every time he’s been given a start. He’s an impact sub at best.

O'connor should be starting everyweek

Or, he’s a confidence based player who will be erratic. A dilemma for Bullen.
