Finlay21 Posted September 8, 2022 Share Posted September 8, 2022 This is in tomorrow’s press ( noticed on a few newspaper websites ) It is widely known that there are plans in place for a period of national mourning in the event of the Queen's passing, which would have an effect on a number of aspects of daily life, including sporting events. Will Scottish football fixtures be cancelled when the Queen dies? The passing of the Queen would start a period of mourning across the United Kingdom, as detailed in a document called "Operation London Bridge". Anyone who has a problem with some games of football going ahead this weekend is a lunatic. It’s not disrespectful playing a game of football though is it? Clubs across the country can mark their respect by having a minutes silence or applause, and the SPFL and most clubs have tweeted a message about the Queen dying, presumably as a mark of respect.
