The Ultimate Super Ayr Thread

It was the fact that Archibald was claiming to be a victim and the bad business men were killing Airdrie. Completely ignoring the mismanagement of the whole stadium project.
Archibald became a champion of the Airdrie fans while he was bringing over his players and winning them deals at other clubs. And then buggering off again.

Yeah there was definite fault with him. Albeit he gave me my most enjoyable time as an airdrie fan when he brought the Spanish players over

Reckon it'll be something like a roof for the NT and new hospitality suite along it, hopefully not fully seated 🤞

Your spot on, that's the drawings.

Hospitality boxes with seating area's and standing in front

The bar revenue shouldn't be in question. It's an event to discuss the future plans for the club rather than a piss-up. last thing they want is being interrupted constantly with folk ordering drinks or going for a piss.

Having it somewhere like the Gaiety or Ayr town hall means they can get the numbers they want. probably with very little production costs.

Folk allowed to go for a pee there?

Finally, a rumour of sorts. Scott Brown is leaving Peterhead and in advanced talks with a FT championship club. A cove fan saying on another thread that we were interested in him in January so could possibly be us.

No idea what he’s like.

Don't know anything about him other than its their captain.  Did see earlier he was in talks with a Champ club but just instantly (and admittedly very lazily) assumed Inverness  due to location haha

He'll probably be added to the no good enough for Ayr pile among some sections of our support by ten to five despite nobody knowing anything about him

He's from Glasgow but been at Peterhead for 6 years. Was at St Johnstone for 3 years prior to that but only played around 20 games.

During our 2 years in L1 he looked very capable at that level. Very much box to box, can thread a pass, likes a shot at goal, takes set pieces, is industrious and will track back. Capable of stepping up to the Championship.

Ian Murray is a fan so Raith could well be on the cards but they seem overrun with midfield options.

I think it was a company of his which supplied stewards to Aidrie, the name Carnegie rings a bell. I also think the debt was about £25k-£30k, and being unable to pay it started a domino effect.

Carnegie would be correct. Not sure they supplied stewards but they dealt with many of the off field commercial activities in football at the time

be honest don't know a lot about Brown but he would bring some experience to a young squad and is the captain at Peterhead.

According to transfermkt he can also operate at right midfield or right back . The plot thickens .

Nah that all sounds too good mate. He’ll be away to Morton or Queens Park. We never seem to go for the outstanding players in League 1.
