Any chance at all the game will be in doubt? Where's best to park near Somerset?

Not heard anything yet about the game being in doubt, best bet for parking are the grounds next to St John's primary just off Whitletts Rd

77/138. Very frustrated at some I missed. Was completely lost for names before around 2005 when I started going along regularly.

Some wild stuff in there I had forgotten about. Scott McLaughlin as our second highest goal scorer in 14/15 and Paul Cairney 2nd in 16/17. Yeesh.

The sum borrowed was actually in the region of £1.82m.
For people of your mindset this is how real business works. You don't look a gift horse in the mouth, when offered a deal structured with such favourable terms as to benefit the business, you jump all over it.
An interest free loan repaid at £91k per annum or £7k per month, over 20 years is as minimal a risk as it gets in relation to the turnover at Rugby Park.
Even Motherwell FC, regarded as one of the top financially run clubs in Scotland, made a £1.5m profit the year previous but still borrowed £2.96m from Scottish Government, as shown in their accounts just released, such a no brainer business decision it was to make.
It may appear like a massive risk to someone like yourself, devoid of simple business acumen, but in reality it's nowhere near it.
People will always mock when they're faced with something they just can't quite compute.

What was purpose of borrowing the £1.82m out of interest?

I’d agree that interest free loans are as good as it gets if you want or need to borrow money but as with all debt there should be a reason for taking it on. I’m sure David Smith would have taken advantage of such a loan if it was available to us to build the Hub or acquire land round Somerset that was needed for any plans we have for ground developments as it would be a no-brainer to fund that with long term interest free debt.

A 20 year facility is clearly long term debt which you’d expect to be for some form of capital expenditure. I know there was talk of portacabins being installed for offices in one of the stands at Rugby Park so not sure if the loan is being used to cover those works?

If the loan is being used to fund wages in your current effort to buy your way out of this league as is clearly happening then that’s a strategy although a fairly high risk one as if it fails you’ve used a long term funding source for short term activities which is not a very clever move as the debt remains to be paid even if it is on favourable terms with no asset to show for it as the money will be sitting in the bank accounts of the raft of players you’ve brought into the club rather than in an asset that should have a purpose that caused you to take on the debt to find it in the first place.

He scored a few goals. Some absolute screamers.
He also gifted many teams a few goals. A standout for me was Peterhead away during the Trust Bus days, when his spine left his body and he allowed a striker through on goal. A memory etched into my mind.

Yes, I'd rather he'd scored 0 goals and kept more goals out.

Some of those noughties and twenty-teens Ayr United teams were fucking awful.

What happened to that Andy O'Connell that used to play for us? He was great.

This is a great initiative, far too many guys find it so hard to talk about issues such as mental health, hopefully this can give them a comfortable space to get help if they need it.

What a great idea. As you said,, there is a huge vacuum in society for men to have somewhere to socialise without the expectation of having to drink alcohol. Great initiative. Well done A#r.
