Is Maxwell eligible to move elsewhere having played for both us and Rangers B this season? Or does the no more than 2 clubs rule not apply below League 2 or do the B teams matches not count as a competitive game?

I don't see why those games wouldn't count, but none of the rules of that competition that pertain to B teams are logical, so who knows.

Salkeld’s work ethic is absolutely pointless as well - he rarely wins the ball back or intercepts when he presses, he is hopeless positionally and doesn’t actually offer anything in a defensive sense either.

Scored a perfectly good goal in the Dumfries shame game due to his pressing that was ruled out.

I do appreciate how difficult it is in January, and can accept three signings - if they are good ones who will substantially improve the starting side. It would need to be a central midfielder, centre half and someone similar to Bradley that can play as a ten or out wide.

Two players wouldn’t be enough, it absolutely has to be three.

Priority needs to be a striker over a CH, especially if Afolabi returns to Celtic as that would then leave us with pretty much Adeloye and nobody else.

Any 2 from Baird, Fjortoft, McGinty and Muirhead is more than enough at this level, especially if we start playing with a Midfield as opposed to submissively sitting back leaving the defence exposed and just basically being the proverbial lambs to the slaughter.

Smith/Mathie really need to speculate to accumulate in this window and ask themselves, can we afford to be relegated.

What exactly are they going to 'accumulate', and when will this take place?

Baird and Muirhead are fine. Any other combination is asking for trouble. It's also crosses that are killing us not players waltzing through the midfield. It's out wide we need to get much better at stopping crosses.

There is a problem in midfield but it's not necessarily leading to the abundance of free headers we readily concede from crosses and corners.

If we controlled games (like we used to do and like we did against Raith) and closed down higher up the park then that cuts down on the amount of easy possession that the opposition gets and the amount of free hits at lobbing balls towards our penalty box.

Our defence looked perfectly competent against Raith including McGinty.
