Guest
The big thing for me about getting a McManus, Thompson or O'Dea is their current and very recent links to the old firm coaching network which could prove invaluable in pulling loan players from these clubs. Other than these guys, Bartley is the standout in terms of potential and of course has close ties with both Hibs and Livingston and indeed our new Management team. Anyone else who's a failed merry go round character would be no better than the Hopkin / Duffy route that we've already gone down unsuccessfully imho.

McManus made more than double the appearances for Celtic than Thompson made for Rangers and has almost 5 times as many international caps…..

D'Jaffo
Kevin Thomson seems like a good appointment until you realise who he wanted as his assistant when he first went to Kelty but didn’t get him. All joking aside it should be a decent appointment if it comes to fruition.

Hursty
2-3 new faces apparently. Considering we have to replace Bradley and probably Maxwell, think its safe to say we are in bother!

Considering we have to replace Bradley and probably Maxwell, think its safe to say we are in bother! Was just about to post this. I said I would be fine with three signings before Bradley left - going by this I’m assuming we won’t be getting a centre half and Afolabi will be staying. Only getting two in would be ludicrous.

Agreed we need to replace maxwell (assuming he is off) and Bradley as well as another 2-3 as a bare minimum
D'Jaffo
They can maybe only commit to 2-3 new signings until they know for sure who they can offload. 3 signings is a start as long as it’s a wide player, a striker and a midfielder but if we can get shot of McGinty that’s maybe another centre half and if we get shot of Salkeld then that’s another midfielder.
ayrunitedfw
We need 3 completely new players as a bare minimum plus replacing whoever moves on so potentially Bradley and Maxwell.
BukyOHare
You would like to think Thomson would be very well connected with regards to loan signings. If he could bring Nathan Austin to play alongside Tomi that'd be great as well.
Trogdor
2/3 signings? Hopefully Voice is wrong as that's not going to cut it. Especially now Bradley is away and Maxwell could be as well. Also, if Afolabi is staying all I can say is... Edited January 4, 2022 by Trogdor
diegomarahenry
On Maxwell, we are capable of duking it out with Dunfermline and Thistle for him, None are going to throw a fortune at Rangers for him and it would come down to wages, with his leanings, as long as we can match the other two then we'll hopefully come to Ayr. He is the type of player we should be signing, capable of being developed further and sold on or capable of playing at Ayr for 3-5 years giving continuity. Leeds being interested buggers the whole thing up.
