Got what we deserved tonight. Surely Hopkin isn't going to set up like that all season.

I know Burke ran the show but the comments about him were cringing from the BBC (Burke Bumming corporation)

Instead of Hearts TV it's obvious it's going to be Killie TV this year from the BBC

First of all Killie won the game , fair play to them , they were the more assertive side .

Hopkin gave the side that beat Hamilton their chance , are they our best eleven . No of course not , McKenzie gave little protection to Reading  Hewitt and Murdock struggled in central midfield . The three boys who arrived this week need to bed in . Our defence and keeper options are decent . I think we’ll be fine this season .

Killie away on paper is our hardest fixture of the season , them being favourites with the bookies and media darlings . We’ll see them at our place in October on a football pitch , with our crowd in and hopefully a ref that isn’t onboard with the media narratives . On the rest of the campaign Saturday is a game we need to be winning . We have the players to do that . Rest of the first quarter we have QoS and Morton at home , important games .

Murdoch was one of the few bright spots for me.  Looks a lot more mobile so hopefully getting back to his best.  But a 5 man midfield that includes a centre back doing his best and 3 other total passengers is never going to work.  Chalmers should be in that midfield every day of the week - the slow Joe guff can get in the sea.

it's worth noting that "from the edinburgh city game" is of course exactly two matches: one against a team who weren't even senior a decade ago and the other against a backetcase whose results this season look like they're going to be drawn out of a hat.

But still a massive improvement on previous performances and results against similar opposition

Disappointed in the result but killie were not levels above us on another day we could have had at least a point, Saturday we need to put a marker down, we have a squad that should be well good enough to be safe if not pushing for top 5 let's hope Hopkin can do what he promises

They most definitely were levels above us - we didn’t get near it. I don’t think they are levels above us, but we certainly did well to make it look like that.

It wouldn't be if you had a manager who would learn from mistakes. We played like this when he first took over up until the Edinburgh City game. No possession, depend on defending well, treat the ball like a hot potato and fire it as hard as you can in whatever direction you are facing. Eye bleeding football. From the Edinburgh City game up until kick-off tonight we have controlled possession, managed games and been good to watch.

All flung to f**k tonight

Eh, I tried. All the best this season lads.

Moffat was a 20-goal-a-season player when he was signed and is now a 4-goal-a-season knock-on specialist. Burke tonight was arguably as good as he's been in years.

Exactly, older players that look after their bodies are underated. I was ragin we signed Burke after his ross County spell, he's consistently been our best player for the last 4 season and is boarding on being a killie legend.

As I said elsewhere, it's obvious that Burke is trying to prolong his career as long as humanly possible considering that he missed what should probably have been the best part of it to injury.

We're not that bad, well I fucking hope not.

Love the interview by Chris Baldy ginger w**k Burke in his girly voice 'Clubs need their fans'

Well f**k Killie for not letting us in. Definite fear.

Seriously here, with that nonsense in your second sentence, maybe thumper called you right. Maybe you were just grumpy & beyond the pale but your choice to make.

Yes, completely agree. I think our approach made Kilmarnock look better than they actually are, but there is no doubt they deserved to win. The poor penalty decision has just allowed Hopkin to deflect attention from our own deficiencies (no matter how frustrating that decision was).

I think if we'd actually gone in 1-0 down in the first half it may have helped us because Hopkin would have had to change it sooner. I doubt we'll start a game with that team again this season.

If we play like that against any team at Somerset then the fans will be on Hopkin's back very, very quickly.

100% this.

We were far too submissive and just invited pressure from the first whistle, Yes, there were a few shocking refereeing decisions but most of our problems were our own making and we definitely need another quality acquisition in the middle of the park.

That said, Adeloye was outstanding, the defence looked pretty solid, the keeper was good and O'Connor looks like a class act who'll delight us on many an occasion this season so at least we have something to work with.

The Arbroath game is now huge, not only from a result perspective but even more so from a performance perspective, as we really need more possession and we just MUST start creating chances, otherwise, Hopkin wont be lasting very long....

Fortunately there is no precedent when it comes to Hopkin looking at a must-win game against Arbroath.

Adeloye might be decent for us, but he’s basically playing in his own time zone at the moment.

Yes, we need to get him support and if we do then I think he'll be a bloody good player for us.
