Dundee have just confirmed McCowan good luck to the boy.

Would have been a big loss if playing with Forrest, Moff, Doc, Kelly, Moore etc, however last years performances confirmed that he'd be pretty ineffective / wasted playing in a workmanlike side to which we've now become.

Good luck at Dundee and hope he fulfills his undoubted promise.

Right then lads... Luke McCowan. I'm well aware he's a talented player, but what's his playstyle like and how is he best utilised?

I’d say he’s best off the striker, where he can drift wide where there is space. Probably the right time to try and move up a level just don’t feel he will cope the best in the top league

Why did the club not announce that he is away? Since McCall left we have had anything from the club when a player leaves!

He’s out of contract and therefore not our player so why would we?

He only signed at 3.45 today , club will likely announce tomorrow that he has rejected offer

He certainly has the ability to step up and with a more experienced coaching team and players around him I believe he will be a success at Dundee , one of these players that needs the challenge , he would not develop much if he stayed in the Championship,

This.

McCowan is at that weird age where he needs to experience top flight football if he's ever to make it to that level. Sink or swim but if he stayed any longer in the Championship then teams above start looking at his age and wonder about any potential.

Dundee probably the right move for him.

Compare that to Kyle Turner, who will be playing Championship football again, and will be at least 25 before he ever plays in the top flight.

Going by the Ayrshire post it doesn’t sound like anything is imminent and Hopkin has said it’s time for patience. Dave Timmins has been down south the past 3 weekends running the rule over potential goalkeepers.

As well as a Striker and Goalkeeper he’s wanting a couple of utility players who can play a number of positions.
