Strictly the Govt did not postpone the Aberdeen and Celtic games. The Govt can't do that. They either allow football or they don't (although they could impose a local lockdown on the venues). Only the SPFL can decide what individual fixtures are going ahead. The SPFL postponed these games. As others have said I fail to see how this helps address the deficiencies of premier league footballers following the rules. Have they said this delay is so they can brief the lower league clubs and players on the guidelines and what it means for them specifically?
