From what I have seen he seems decent , but is he better than our current midfielders ? I would say not at the moment but would be an addition to the squad for injury cover

We’ve only really got 2 midfielders if you discount Kerr who has already said he’d rather not play.

Is Alderson likely to be Kerr’s replacement?

I don’t think he is anywhere near Kerso’s level , I would think someone from another club will fill that role

Amazed to just see that's he's still only 24, seems to have been playing for years already, must have started playing very young at Falkirk. Would presume it would be a loan

Who's keeping him out of a place ?

It wouldn't be Robbie, would it ??

Team News: Steven Bell joins Kris Doolan (ankle) and long-term absentees Jamie Adams and Andy Murdoch on the sidelines. Luke McCowan serves the first of his two match ban.

Am I missing something here? He’s been injured for the past 5 or 6 weeks.

He was fit for Saturday now injured lol, he's been a good servant but he can gtf in January, we're a small squad which can't afford long term injury crocks like Adams and Bell, need younger bodies in which are less prone to injury.

He was listed as a sub down at QoS as well. I wasnt there so no idea if he was actually on bench or not though

He was out warming up with the rest of the team pre match and looked pretty fit to me.

It seems he has the flu or something as opposed to an injury ??

I'd happily take 8 points from our next 4 matches, with a draw tonight and a draw on Saturday being more than acceptable if we can then win our next 2 home matches against Arbroath & Alloa.

It's also maybe worked out ok that Luke will miss the Dunfermline & Inverness matches where we may need to be a bit tighter but then return for the matches in which we'll likely need to break our opponents down.........

You seemed to suggest that our physio only deals with rehabilitation, with diagnosis left to the player to progress through their local GP.   That sounds amateurish to me.  Professional football clubs are often dealing with highly specialised injuries with an obvious time pressure to get players back playing as quickly as possible, so I would have expected private insurances to be in place within the club. As you say, it doesn’t happen often that players need surgery, but. I would have expected better provision to be in place when it does.

I do wonder if this is the full story though, as I think the earlier poster was correct when he mentioned Docherty’s injury being paid for by the club.

You can expect all you like but it's prohibitively expensive for clubs at our level to obtain private medical insurance for professional footballers. And if you do get it then it won't cover pre-existing injuries anyway (injure the knee once, it's not going to be covered for repeat injuries). It's almost certainly cheaper to carry no medical insurance and deal with operations on a pay as you go basis. Sometimes that will mean the NHS is as good and quick as anything. Sometimes you need to go more specialist and pay for something directly.

People forget where we actually are in footballing terms. As pointed out clubs can't afford insurance for players generally at our level with the exceptions of maybe 2 or 3 clubs in this division.
