Elgin City 2018/19

Recommended Posts

I concur. A couple of good signings so far. A bit concerning that 'Mr Elgin' will be out for a bit as he was inspirational at times, but hopefully not for long. Would like to see McHale  as our No.1 and that he wants to come back depending on his job  prospects.
I think Darryl had a scan on friday on his knee. He is hoping its nothing serious so fingers crossed. I believe Mchale moved back south due to work reasons so not sure he will be back, but im the same i would like to see him as number 1. Its high time we went into a signed goalie as number 1 and bot our late 40s goalie coach as number 1 until a loan signing comes in at at the last minute.

I remember McDonald being decent, happy with that. Did he play right back at all?

Positive signing (McDonald) imho thought he was decent in his loan spell and sure he got a couple of mom. We need quite a few players but sorting out the defence is no. 1 priority.  Think Ross cty or ICT will provide us with our loan players so it they both go up - could be some decent players available.

ICT not going up! When have we had any really good loan players from there. Mcivor and Morrison are two who have just been released from County.

Not sure that there will be much in the way of loan options from ICT, given that they have such a thin First Team squad, & beyond that they're putting all their eggs in the basket of their current U18s side, which they're of course trying to get into the Highland League. Even if they don't succeed in that, then wouldn't like to think that their youngsters would be brought in & played ahead of Elgin's own youngsters, given that the boys that have been given contracts for the coming season are not hugely different in ability to the ICT lads.

striker two wide players and a strong centre mid and we b fine!

Re wide players, assuming that Ali Sutherland will be away. Gav has never seemed to like him & he got hardly any game time after returning from his loan spell at Rothes, where he definitely looked a level above when he settled in there, including chipping in with four goals in 13 games, which isn't a bad return for a wide midfielder / winger.

So it’s ok for McInally and Peterhead to actively pursue Sutherland whilst he’s an Elgin player and turning his head to the extent he leaves but as soon another team does it to Peterhead it’s underhanded and shameful - what a Whalloper!

Just read it the now god knows whos to blame for that but i think mcinally is trying to find an excuse to why sutherland never performed that well for them

Would nah take him back anyway seems a bit of a grump when he doesnt get his way so presume cove may be interested heard rumour of that before

Anything that rattles McInally is a good thing.

So basically Shane forcing through his transfer to Peterhead to get out of Elgin ASAP made him miss out on the chance of returning to full time football with Caley, hopefully he'll learn a lesson from this.

Can't say I'm surprised it hasn't worked out for Shane there. His absolutely stinking attitude has obviously shone through once again.

I know we desperately need strikers but I hope we don't go down that route again. He is more trouble than he is worth IMO.

Ecfc  I personally don’t think they will outlay the finance to bring him back
Fingers crossed Alec. I also hear that the manager has no time for him at all and was keen to get him out of the door.

No chance we will pay money for anybody. His attitude is stinking and an unsettling influence on the rest of the squad. Only one person he is interested in.  Cove then HL me thinks.

Brigsy is spot on about Mcinally.

Wasn't aware Jordan Allan was a target thought that was just P&B speculation as he was released from Stirling?

Shane obviously doesn't understand the meaning of a contract. He was a joy to watch before he got injured but other than that he's done almost nothing in his career but cause trouble. Stay well clear.
