Elgin City 2018/19

Also a mention to Soapy. Two good achievements today and surely one of our best and most popular players since joining the leagues. Hopefully stays fit, gets played in the right position and rediscovers the form of 15-17.

We do love a goalkeeper signing out of left field don't we? Signed former Truro City keeper Tom McHale today. Does this mean Ian Ross is away? Noticed Dunner was on the bench on Saturday.

Anyway, bizarrely spotted a YouTube compilation of McHale's highlights from last season.... Seems good at saving pens

We must have signed a huge amount of keepers over the last few years, and yet Steve Dunn always seems to be on hand to fill the bench.

This guy McHale is in England's non league squad so must have something about him, hopefully an improvement on the last keeper we had that played "international" football (anyone remember PJ Donnelly?)

There seems to be a hugely positive reaction on social media from Truro fans about how good this guy is... It's came out of nowhere but could prove to be a great signing. 2 year deal as well so we'll finally have a permanent keeper, which can only be a positive thing.

Elgin must have some scouts!Two boys from the English non league well played.

I think our latest - James McGowan is the same lad that played for Albion Rovers and Queen of the South.

Edited to add;

I think we had 5 local lads in the squad last Saturday too..

Got a good draw away to Annan where we were the better team and where our record and general away record is crap. Didna play best on Sat against a decent Edinburgh side but dug out a win in a game we could easily have lost. Defense looks stronger, squad looks deeper, and a few still getting back to fitness after pre season injuries. More local lads as well which is always good to attract more to the crowd. All in all, so far so good. Don’t think we are up there with Clyde and Peterhead but have potential to be best of rest with a bit of good fortune!
