mo83
We've signed former Annan player Rabin Omar on a 2 year deal. The one and only player I really disliked last season...
Thom & Gerry
Good enough signing. Could do with another defender given our injuries. I thought we were well covered there but Moray Cup called it correct in an earlier post.
MorayCup
A draw away from home is always a welcome result, especially at a place where our record is as poor as it is at Galabank. Anyone head down? How did we look? The match stats suggest we were good value for our point.
afca32
A point at Galabank is always a good result for us. New season excitement is hitting me.
Thom & Gerry
If we can pick up points like this away from home and maintain our home form you never know! Good result.
afca32
Also a mention to Soapy. Two good achievements today and surely one of our best and most popular players since joining the leagues. Hopefully stays fit, gets played in the right position and rediscovers the form of 15-17.
gordon9736
I see we had a trialist on the bench . Any idea who that was?
MorayCup
We do love a goalkeeper signing out of left field don't we? Signed former Truro City keeper Tom McHale today. Does this mean Ian Ross is away? Noticed Dunner was on the bench on Saturday. Anyway, bizarrely spotted a YouTube compilation of McHale's highlights from last season.... Seems good at saving pens
Thom & Gerry
Aye a bit unusual right enough. Is he in RAF or have family connections up this way? Can only assume Ross is away.
afca32
Truro finished higher end 6th tier so should be a decent standard. Whatever happened with Ross was bizarre and presumably Dear is on loan.
Thom & Gerry
Prob not happy at his lack of game time. Dear is at Lossie.
WeAreElgin
We must have signed a huge amount of keepers over the last few years, and yet Steve Dunn always seems to be on hand to fill the bench. This guy McHale is in England's non league squad so must have something about him, hopefully an improvement on the last keeper we had that played "international" football (anyone remember PJ Donnelly?)
MorayCup
There seems to be a hugely positive reaction on social media from Truro fans about how good this guy is... It's came out of nowhere but could prove to be a great signing. 2 year deal as well so we'll finally have a permanent keeper, which can only be a positive thing.

I think our latest - James McGowan is the same lad that played for Albion Rovers and Queen of the South. Edited to add; I think we had 5 local lads in the squad last Saturday too.. DutchBorderer
How has Elgin's play been so far this season?
Thom & Gerry
Got a good draw away to Annan where we were the better team and where our record and general away record is crap. Didna play best on Sat against a decent Edinburgh side but dug out a win in a game we could easily have lost. Defense looks stronger, squad looks deeper, and a few still getting back to fitness after pre season injuries. More local lads as well which is always good to attract more to the crowd. All in all, so far so good. Don’t think we are up there with Clyde and Peterhead but have potential to be best of rest with a bit of good fortune!
Jacksgranda
Another three points the day. Anybody there? My brother takes in the occasional City away game in the central belt, maybe I'll give him a ring.
