One of the teams will need to change their socks

Last night at Lugar where Saltcoats were the visitors the referee said that the Saltcoats socks( Black) clashed with the Lugar socks( blue). lugar were in all blue and Saltcoats were in Claret and Amber with black socks .Stevie Wonder could have picked out who was who as could the inhabitants of the international space station but no one of the teams would need to change their socks as per the rule quoted by the ref. Lugar gave Saltcoats fifteen pair of maroon socks and they looked nice with the the Claret and amber. Dark corner, Wat cloot and brow spring to mind

As I remember, the Laws of the Game are very general in terms of colour clashes - they only say that teams should wear colours which distinguish them from each other (and maybe the referee too). Detailed rules about shirt/shorts/sock clashes are usually laid down by local leagues and associations.

This shouldn't have been an issue if the ref had read his email with both teams colours noted on it before the game. If he had an issue he could have easily notified both teams before the game.

Email ??

Morse code machine or smoke signals .

Tbf a ref being told blue could be anything from sky blue to dark blue and every shade in between

It should be the correct colour(s) of the strip. Could help by sending a picture of said strip. Wife used to run a ladies team so know that she done this.
