The game against Croatia counts as a draw, 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Well......no

Difference with the colombia game was the fact in ended a draw ever after 120 minutes and needed pens. = Draw

Croatia beat England without the need for pens within 120 mins = Loss

If you had a bet on a draw at Croatia v England, you would have won the bet as bookies look at scores after 90 minutes. I think that's fair enough, a win/loss after extra time should imo in statistics be regarded as a draw.

Lineker is at it. He was one of the ‘it’s coming home’ ring leaders.

I'm listening to 5 Live on the way home and the presenter has just claimed that the whole 'It's coming home' thing was ironic. All the folk in the studio agreed. He then said that Croatia's claims of arrogance were nonsense. That was (unitentionally) ironic, not the 'It's coming home' stuff.

Oh and they're all saying that they knew Mbappe all along.

Dion Dublin and some other guy on 5Live don't like Lovern as he's seemingly arrogant because he didn't like a question a reporter asked him. Also they reckon that he committed numerous fouls that were worthy of a booking and so should have been sent off and thus wouldn't have been able to make a lot of fouls, and so wouldn't have stopped England attacks. This is seemingly one of the reasons England lost.

It's satirical? Where the f**k does that end then? All football is fake?

Were they ironic? A pundit's pundit pastiche? Would explain a lot.

This has actually gone pretty well as they now think they're genuine contenders and actually a good team.

When they get pumped out of the Euros by the first good team they the outrage will be all the sweeter.

Was lovrens problem with it was the line of questioning was along the lines of - harry kane gave you a torrid time when playing against spurs last season and we basically expect him to do it you again. Yet lovren is the one who is arrogant.

The Southgate roundabout in Kings Lynn has also been renamed 'The Gareth Southgate Roundabout'.

An impressive gesture I'm sure you'll agree.

France would have beaten England about 6-1 if they played them yesterday. England are light years behind them in every position and that won’t change in 2 or 4 years time.

Only interesting thing to have ever happened in Kings Lynn except when Wendy met someone outside of the gene pool!?

They're a level below the top nations and always have been.  Getting a bye to the semi final of the World Cup doesn't change that.

In 2 years time they'll have Italy and Holland to deal with too, alongside Spain, France, Germany and Croatia.  Good luck with that.

England are so desperate for success that they have tried to play down their hopes of success as a mere joke, whilst simultaneously claiming their failure as a success.

What a confusing minter for them.

Is that not fair enough?  Nobody worth listening to seriously thought England would win the World Cup, so to reach the third/fourth playoff (notwithstanding the opposition) can only be seen as a success.  Look at the inverse.  The anti-English sentiment from our side of the wall is surely heavily ironic, but to an outsider (and thick Scots) it appears like genuine xenophobia.

Likewise a heavily ironic English national in-joke appears like brazen arrogance to an outsider.

Will they?  Agreed that you wouldn't think they'd be so bad for a third tournament in a row, but then most thought they'd make a World Cup.  They really should be able to qualify for another 24 team tournament, but surely their seeding must be plummeting.

Cue them drawing us in the qualifiers and absolutely dicking on us.

You're forgetting that people seem contractually obliged to pick up on absolutely anything they can find to point and laugh at, even if there's nothing there.  Odd behaviour.
