Seem to remember a few years ago that clubs extended the contracts of players when those clubs were involved in the league play-offs. Let Bohemians extend their player contracts and play the game on 17November.

Not quite sure what the SPFL have done wrong on this particular instance. Bohemians were invited to participate and accepted. Not up to the SPFL to arrange games to suite Bohemians.

The invited teams into a cup competition that play an entirely different calendar. They really, really ought to have checked that the clubs from that country could fulfil the dates outside of their season. This is very basic stuff.

Can't blame Bohemians tbh. They clearly thought they'd be far too shite to reach this stage.

Fuckin Diddy cup, we even put out our reserves to try get knocked out and still made the quarters and will easily make the semi if we bother playing it

F**k even giving us home advantage and playing the tie earlier in midweek just to suit they cants, not our problem their club can't honour the dates that surely would have been known before a ball had been kicked! I hope we dig our heels in and insist on playing the tie on dates that have been set and if Bohemians don't like it or can't get a team then that's tough titties! Last thing we need is an extra midweek game in a sideshow event at a vital part of our season. Please just get the colt teams and non Scottish teams to f**k next season and invite some junior teams in to replace them ffs. What a shambles and once again the supporters are clearly last on the agenda

Well no, it isnt. But the prospect of Bohemians (or Sligo) either having no players due to contract expiry or because they have all booked off season holidays is hardly unforeseeable either. The date for the end of the Irish football season would have been known when round dates were arranged. This bridge should have been crossed when they were invited. Either it was and the Irish sides gave an undertaking that it wasnt a problem (in which case Bohemians havent a leg to stand on in requesting a rearrange date now) or it wasnt in which case the SPFL certainly bear a share of responsibility in not identifying the issue when arranging the round dates of a cross Border competition.

What happens if Irish sides are still in Europe beyond their season end, as Dundalk were a couple of years ago?

Junior teams are a shite relic from the 1930s; get them in the sea instead. It should be all Highland and Lowland teams plus a selection of foreign diddies who can actually fulfil their fixtures.

The four Irish clubs will know just now whether they will be in the UCL/UEL next year, so presumably their players' contracts will include an option to extend it for a month in Nov 2019 if they make the group stage.

All for Highland, Lowland and top junior clubs to be invited in! Quite like the idea of Kelty Hearts and Lithgae Rose joining in tbh, better than current format anyway

Connah's Quay at home. Would have preferred away for the sesh but happy enough, at least it's something different. Wonder how many fans they'll bring up seeing as it'll be novelty trip to Hampden for them (although the SFA won't be happy we're playing a game there  a few days before the Israel match)

Probably live on S4C I reckon as well

Yeah, S4C will be showing it.

Going to try to make it up, tbh was hoping for either yous or Edinburgh City away cos I fancy a night out ...

If true, that will surprise absolutely no-one.

100% mate.. Do you think Bohs would enter a competition in which they couldn't fulfill the fixtures unless they were given certain gaurentees. We might be tinpot but compared to the SPFL we are Real Madrid..

Just a little thing as well lads, Bohs notified the SPFL about our player contract situation and were told they would address it when/if it happened.

If they notified them before they were confirmed as entered then thats simply not good enough as a response. A different schedule should have been drawn up or it made clear at the start that a change of date would be necessary if a League of Ireland side made the last eight.

If they notified them after entering and being confirmed then thats on Bohemians to an extent, though doesnt change my point that the issue was not unforseeable with Ireland using a summer calendar. It should have been considered by the SPFL anyway.

As far as I am aware and have been told and I have no reason to doubt him, Bohs made the SPFL fully aware of the situation before the competition, why wouldn't they? This is a competition Bohs were invited to because every other Irish club told them to get ta f**k. Not sure why we accepted cause it's been nothing but a disruption for us too. So as fare as I am aware there is nothing on Bohs and is a complete f**k up and not for the first time by the SPFL.  So  East Fife fans would be better directing their anger towards their goverining body and not Bohs.
