Scary Bear
Raith Rovers at home to Aberdeen Colts. Do Rovers trump Colts? The only positive I can foresee is checking if there are any possible January loan signings.

razamanaz
I thought and was pleased that the SFA were embracing the idea of the pyramid system? With the Lowland League and Highland League and the Juniors in the East all wanting to be a part of this idea - and then the SFA make a mess of it again and invite the Colts, Irish, Welsh & English diddy teams in. It cost teams a fortune to travel to these places last year. They have made a full of themselves again. I hope Rangers and Celtic Colts get drawn against an English team away from home and the fans have a riot. It's a cup for the teams outwith the Scottish Premiership is it not? Bit of a disaster for the non-leaguers. East Kilbride and Spartans also drew each other, while the winners of BSCG v 'Shire host the glamorous Motherwell 'B'. Cove did get Montrose.
Doonhamer doon south
Not sure whether a club who draws a colt team should a) Play a full strength side and make a point in the process to Doncaster and co about how shit an idea it is. (heavy defeat for the colt team) b) Play an under strength team and make a point on the farcical nature of the competition no matter the result. c) Forfeit the game and accept any disciplinary punishment in the process and making the point that exit from the competition is better than playing a colt team.

D) Clubs register and sign up a bunch of their fans and play them against the colts. Can have the boys warming up with a fag and taking shots at the keeper. Followed by the standard 2 foot challenges of a pub team. Then the lads can enjoy a few pints afterwards as they reminisce about playing for their club.

peternapper
The only way to make the point against colts etc being involved is for supporters to stay away from games they are involved in & make their own chairmen aware why they are not attending these games. They (chairmen) would be asking questions of Doncaster & co if attendances did not even cover the refs expenses.

StewartyMac
Alloa away. Excellent. Not played them at the piggery for years on account of us being utter shite season after season. Hopefully a decent crowd that night. Been better if it was a Saturday game, but hey ho.

Arsene Parcelly
On 26/06/2018 at 16:06, Flash said: It wasn’t just that the numbers were grouped together, it was the fact that the higher numbers came out first. In the north draw, the sequence was 20, 9, 17, 19, 24 and 23. So 4 of the 6 highest numbers drawn first. I think the south draw looked more skewed - the first half was 47, 46, 37, 28, 38, 36, 41, 30, 42, 45, 48, 43. Of the first 12 numbers picked, 7 were from the highest 8 and only 2 from the lowest 8 meaning the second 12 numbers drawn had 1 from the highest 8 and 6 from the lowest 8. In addition, there was the “bunching” of 36, 37 and 38 as well as 41, 42, 43, 45 and 48. Obviously, the sample is too small to draw any conclusions, but this kind of thing happens too often to be coincidence imo. On this occasion, I think the higher numbers were in the centre of the bowl and therefore more likely to be picked first. The pickers swirled them around, but it made no real difference. They were always going to pick from the centre and if the higher numbers had settled there, they were more likely to be chosen first. Sometimes it is different with 1 v 36 followed by 35 v 2 followed by 18 v 19 being the kind of pattern. But it happens all the time, particulalry in the early rounds. They need to mix the balls up before they put them in the bowl, imo. However, I accept that I might be seeing patterns that don’t exist. Any advice you can give me for tonights thunderball?
Poet of the Macabre
Quote Colts teams participating in the IRN-BRU Cup will now be able to field U21s in the 2018/19 competition. It’s one of a number of new regulations proposed by the Competitions Working Group which were approved by the SPFL Board this week. In previous seasons, participation of Colts teams was limited to U20s. In a further change to the competition, which recently welcomed Sutton United and Boreham Wood from the English National League, all games up to and including the quarter-finals will go straight to penalties rather than extra time if drawn after 90 minutes. SPFL Chief Executive Neil Doncaster said: “Since the new format was introduced, the IRN-BRU Cup has proven to be extremely popular among fans, players and clubs, and we’ve continued to innovate and evolve the competition. “We believe these rule changes, together with the introduction of English clubs, will make the IRN-BRU Cup even more exciting for supporters.” First round ties will be played Tuesday 14 or Wednesday 15 August, 2018. HibeeJibee
Abolishing extra-time before QFs ?!?! EDIT: Ah, of course, the English equivalent abolished extra-time last season. Also confirmation of age limit increasing alongside over-age players. Edited June 27, 2018 by HibeeJibee
