pandarilla
The Yankees have let two 4+ run leads go in the ninth inning in the last fortnight. No other team in the majors has let that kind of lead slip this season. Absolutely tragic, and a massive clear out is needed.

It would be funny if it wasn't the Astros.
Savage Henry
Ohtani’s batting numbers are almost Barry Bonds like, and his pitching is more than decent. That guy might blow himself up at some point, but for now he’s something else. A generational talent.

Sarto Mutiny
Feeling outdone by the D'backs the Nationals shipped 24 runs last night. The Cubs are currently playing a series against the Diamondbacks, which is as clear a case of a stoppable force meeting a moveable object as you are ever likely to see.
placidcasual
Absolute nonsense in the Pirates Mets game yesterday. Pitcher tried to push a ground ball foul, the umpire correctly called the ball fair. Mets all stand about arguing whilst 3 runs scored. I've never seen anything like it. Rojas went tonto at the umpire and will likely have a fair old suspension to serve now.

One of the most comically run franchises in US sport.

One of the strangest games I've watched in a long time. Nationals pitchers couldn't get the ball over the plate. Pads hitters were hacking at everything, and the ball kept hitting the gaps and disappearing into the bleachers. Cronenworth with only the third Cycle in Pads history iirc. The single was an infield dribbler as well. Just a weird night all around. Edited July 19, 2021 by Boo Khaki

GNU_Linux
Guardians doesn't sound like a baseball moniker at all to me. Sounds more american football (XFL has the New York Guardians) or hockey. Would've been nice to have a moniker alluding to the cities cultural or industrial past.

GNU_Linux
After doing some reading seems the name is derived from the Guardians of Traffic on the Hope Memorial Bridge near Progressive Field. Guess I'm getting my nod to the city after all.
GNU_Linux
Mets starting depth currently so banged up they've traded for auld man Rich Hill of the Rays. Going the other way is reliever Tommy Hunter & prospect catcher Matt Dyer.

We've used 15 starters this season until now.
