GNU_Linux
Christian Yelich out for rest of season after leaving last nights game with a fractured right knee cap
Savage Henry
Mike Yastrzemski’s home run in his first game in Boston last night was pretty cool for those of us with a passing interest in baseball folklore.
placidcasual
Alonso breaks Judge's rookie HR record. Even by New York standards, it's been a bizarre season.
pandarilla
I was all set for an exciting night but the Yankees have blown the twins away in game two - 7-0 in the third inning. Might just go to bed. 2-0 up in the series (taking this game for granted obviously). Should get the job done without needing game five.
pandarilla
Rays up 3-0 early against verlander - who is pitching on three days rest. Bit of a gamble by the Astros? If they have to play a game 5 their starting rotation would be all over the shop against the Yankees (starting Saturday).A combination of playoff fever and feeling sorry for myself due to illness led me to spend a hundred quid on merchandise today. Another factor could be that my wife is away in Glasgow at the moment. Happy days.

David W
10-0 Would be some comeback if they can turn this around.

Shite pitching, errors, walking the pitcher, catcher falling over. FFS

To think that they've played 6+ months almost daily and then chuck it inside 20 minutes.

David W
Looking tough for the Cardinals now. You'd imagine Strasburg/Scherzer will win the Nationals 2 from 5.

pandarilla
...it definitely ain't happening. What a way to go though. I injured my son celebrating DJ's home run in the ninth. Huge mistake to pitch to that wee nyaff two minutes later. Great game, great series. Always next year.

SamuraiJock
Would still expect the Astros to bounce back at least a bit, but 2-0 down with the Nats beating Cole and Verlander makes it a tough ask.
Sarto Mutiny
Fair play to the Nationals - they've already won two more games than I thought they would. Momentum is an amazing thing. Hope they see it through, but can't help thinking the Astros are such a good team that they must turn this around...surely?
