David W
Yes, regardless of ticket sales, prices, views, the fact it's not the Phillies etc, I am absolutely buzzing.

Mark Connolly
Strong start from Porcello
Savage Henry
Strong start from PorcelloAbsolutely no studio coverage from the BBC. They’ve just clipped in MLB productions videos and then spliced that into the Fox Sports feed. The commentary is going on about “anchor batsmen” in cricket.

BT are going with the "If you're new to baseball" approach, and have Darren Fletcher leading the commentary. It's not bad tbh, but I'd imagine the more knowledgeable fans won't be happy.

Yeah, it's clearly something they need to be doing if it's ever going to take off.. I have no issues with them simplifying stuff.
Inanimate Carbon Rod
Walking about London today the atmosphere was amazing, so many baseball fans. I think London could quite easily actually sustain an MLB team.
Savage Henry
Not a great advert for start pitching, this.

Are the dimensions the same as Boston's (not including the Green Monster)?
pandarilla
I wonder what the managers will find to complain about. Are the dimensions the same as Boston's (not including the Green Monster)?Definitely not. Much shorter, especially at centre field

One big weekend event is one thing, 81 games a year is totally different.
Savage Henry
No way. One big weekend event is one thing, 81 games a year is totally different. Yeah. There’s also the question of scheduling the AL or NL East.
DigOutYourSoul
The starting pitching has been very poor but as an advert for scoring baseball to people who don’t watch its been good.At this rate it could be a huge score.
DigOutYourSoul
Oof. £6.50 for a half pint of Heineken. I was $15 for a large can (1.5 pints) last week at Yankee Stadium. Which now doesn’t seem so bad.

pozbaird
Fcuk sake, this shite makes test cricket look interesting. I’ve been to two games in the USA, the Mariners at the old Kingdome, and the Blue Jays against the Rays in Toronto. I tuned into this as an NFL fan, and someone who travels to America two or three times a year, to give it another go.... but this has merely re-inforced the view I had after actually attending two games over there - utter, utter tedium. Mind numbing tedium. Fcuking BT Sport coverage at more than one point needed to major in on foot long hot dogs to make it interesting. I’ve tried, I really have, but this sport is complete shite. IMHO, naturally. Edited June 29, 2019 by pozbaird
