Selkirk missed 2 absolute sitters early in 2nd half, and another very good chance later on, to finish it off. They needed something as they continued tiring and at times it was all hands to the pumps defensively. Ultimately they rued them.

Even after going down to 10-men Cumbernauld were always looking dangerous and stretching Selkirk. They were doing more of the running - at times putting them under plenty pressure without forcing chances. Ultimately that paid off, helped by a defensive lapse, for the equaliser... and thereafter the tide was only running their way. Indeed it took a great block 1-on-1 to prevent it ending 4-1.

Decent crowd and congratulations Cumbernauld on their first-ever senior trophy. Hard luck Selkirk but great effort to reach the Final given how few players available and who they beat along the way.

Excellent facilities at Netherdale as always. Plus everyone now knows what happens when a player is sick on a plastic pitch!

Selkirk were better side in opening 25 mins but CCs slowly took control despite losing a player and defo had the better chances to score as the first half progressed...hit the post and had several near things with headers.

Selkirk should have dominated the second half with the extra man and although had a couple of clear cut chances CCs played a canny game with only 10 men and looked the more creative as the game progressed.

Great spectacle for the Low League and both teams put on a great show in the sun with CCs coming out on top on this occasion.
