remarkable turnaround in a year from almost certain relegation (where I was about the only opposing fan that thought you were good enough to still get out of it despite enormousxstick on here) to cruising to the title a year later. it's the stuff as fans you can only dream of. a very good manager and well deserved
Fair assessment. Cheers

Rivalry aside, their consistency has been very impressive and they have ground out win after win when many of their fans concede themselves that they haven't played all that well at times.
Against us for example, apart from  1 half of football in 6, they didn't look like Champions and they have failed to beat us in 3 attempts but take nothing away from them, they have beat everyone  comfortably and fully deserve the title. Hope they get scudded every week in the Premiership right enough!
We play them again on the 2nd last game of the season when you would imagine  they will get the trophy. That will be a tough watch but we will prob still travel in numbers as you would imagine we will need to take something from that game to stand a chance of  the playoffs.
Well done ya dirty, smelly, illegitimate Paisley Basterds!!
Aw. That's nice ya soapdodger

Congrats, but would have appreciated a wobble somewhere along the road. Still, the Bairns can lay claim to the result against DU that really got the procession underway.

Well done.

Well played Saints.  Chuffed for James Fowler and Gavin Reilly.  Lewis Morgan has been a joy to watch at times.

Agree with this.

Saints have been the most consistent team this season where as the rest of us have had some great games but to many mediocre ones.

Repost from the Saints thread - we are currently eight points better off than Hibs were this time last season.

Not surprised this topic came about after we were out the running from Saturday of being unable to win the league.

It surely must rank as one of the easiest championship wins for St Mirren, no one really has laid a glove you once you hit the top spot

Hibs weren't all that last season, best of a bad bunch but did what they had to do,to take the gloss off slightly, St Mirren are the same this season albeit more consistent but factor in Brechin, Dumbarton and ourselves being pish over long periods kinda adds up.

I'll applaud your lot on last game of the season, tho hopefully we get the three points to open the we are better than you debate on here.

Only a Morton team could lose it from here....

Slightly off topic from the St Mirren love in but that also makes you notice how good a job Livingston have done. If the could have turned a couple of draws into wins then we might have had a challenge this season.

Yeah, I've been saying that for a few weeks now - from seaside to second is a hell of an achievement. Seriously impressive.

If I am being objective I'd say we had the 3rd best team on paper (at the start), probably the 3rd best budget with most of us foreseeing a 3rd placed finish. It's fair to say we don't have the 3rd best manager though!

With United, Falkirk and Inverness - all teams you would have expected at the start of the season to do well - doing so badly, it's really been up to the "chasing pack" to make a dent on our lead. Livi have certainly given it a go, and Dunfermline at the start certainly looked like they fancied it, but it's probably fair to say this was one of the easiest, but that just seems to be the way the league has unfolded. It certainly didn't look that way from day one - even without the "big" teams like Rangers, Hearts or Hibs.

Let’s save all the back slapping for when we’ve actually won the league. We lost a cup final against NINE men and went out of Europe despite being 4-3 up at home with 3 mins to go and having 3 away goals to none in our favour!
