BBC bias

Whilst it's a fertile time for exposing how much of a shower of utter b*****ds the Tories are and the media lackeys who help enable them, cant help feeling a bit sombre than usual about the fact that the latest spotlight shone on their cuntishness is that of impoverished children.

A problem no one really wants to admit or acknowledge gets brought out into the light, primarily by Marcus Rashford, then the Conservatives actively choose to force it back into the shadows, the result of which will be young kids going hungry.

The only way these c***s should ever be in power is in some sort of military enforced, Hunger Games nightmare society. The fact that they are voted in repeatedly is the most shameful thing you can imagine. What a shower of fucking scum vermin c***s.

A Treasury guy on the GMS this morning explaining that free school meals would have cost in the region of £20 million a week, fuckin peanuts when you consider how much billions of  loans and grants they have given out which will disappear fraudulently plus the  ridiculous amounts they have thrown at the likes of Weatherspoons and the brexit loving owner.

In my mind the poor and needy children come first.

You'd think the vote was on rolling out free school meals to every child in the country the way Clarke-Smith was talking.

I think I'm right in saying it's for households earning around £7.5k that he's demanding 'take responsibility'. c**t.

The best bit is that Clarke-Smith is from a council estate in Nottingham & recieved free school meals as a bairn.

Jesus wept.

Enjoying the benefits for themselves before happily pulling up the drawbridge has ever been Tory behaviour.

In any decent society, the Tory govt and its MPs who voted this way wouldn't survive this.

From today's Times re a prospective candidate for chair of the BBC. 'Mr Sharp is not seen as a partisan figure despite donating hundreds of thousands of pounds to the Tory party'. Discuss.

Larger tabloid for gammons in nonsensical cheerleading for Tories shocker.

For anyone who has been keeping a watch on the war which has now been waged over years on the BBC by its enemies there will be nothing too revelatory in the article below. It does though serve as a further grim portent of the way the UK is currently headed - this will not go away - and should serve as a wake-up call to anyone of a thinking disposition.

And if you are a resident of Scotland, it should also give a cause to ponder if you are reticent about a future life in an offshore right-wing island satellite of the USA.

Hyperbolic ? Let's all hope so.

Not hyperbolic, just one part of the jigsaw.  Removing any and all barriers to the kind of society that Johnson, Patel and Raab want to create will continue apace over the next four years.

Covid and free meals for hungry kids grab the headlines whilst the real toxic work unfolds virtually unnoticed.

Perhaps amplyifying the right at every oppportunity was not a great idea given this.

They've been under constant attack since the Iraq war and especially from the Right over the last 20 years of Tory rule. Maybe they should have resisted more but if anyone had  they would just have been sacked and replaced. Cummings and co want to smash any semblance of attempted neutrality in state broadcasting and hand it over lock stock and barrel to Murdoch and other cronies. That's why they look like putting Paul Dacre in charge of Ofcom, if you think TV news is biased to the Right now, just wait till he deregulates it. C4 will be next on their list, followed by ITV, Maggie style, when she finished off Thames TV in revenge for Death on the Rock. Be careful what you wish for.

where I get the sense that BBC are biased with this Government (perhaps they are to every incumbent Government), is their repeated ability to turn and present absolute clusterfucks of statements, policies and inept failures/contradictions around Brexit and Covid (to name just two) into the perception of coherent, strategic and co-ordinated delivery. So many times Johnson or Gove have completely backtracked, ignored or contradicted previous statements or policies and then spouted some complete nonsense when announcing new direction/delivery and the BBC dutifully report it as run of the mill policy updates. The news is of course the complete change of position  and perhaps holding the Govt to account for that - either in the reporting article through at least referencing it or elsewhere in their programming - but for me, this is rarely done.

I think it is more apparent from what I have seen with US networks and Trump. Their reporting on his latest bizarre, contradictory announcements - which often include fabrications and many times uncorroborated opinions based on rumour or internet conspiracy theories - are reported and reacted to by many in the same way as say the Chinese President's visit to Canada.  It's as if they feel compelled to turn what recently would be considered insane ramblings, personal attacks based on gossip, and complete policy failures into something more statesman/traditional Government like - which is what the BBC I feel attempt do to this Tory Government.

The BBC is a public corporation of the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

It would be naive to consider that the westmister government run BBC acts and transmits as an Independent impartial and politically neutral body.

Given that the print media is over 90% owned by conservative party donors and/or sympathisers the public are also politically fed right wing views in line with the tory government policies.

The BBC's effect on people is entirely intentional. They know exactly how to influence people while giving them the impression that they're thinking independently.

There's no greater brainwashing tactic than convincing people that they're not.

Watching newswatch is quite interesting. The vast majority of their most recent complaints are from people who think they're too critical of the government.

A lot of folk (particularly in England) want the bbc to back the government during this pandemic, with much less dissention from the likes of burnham or starmer (not that the latter is doing much opposing).

It never fails to amaze me just how small c conservative much of England is.

Flag waving patriots who think you should support the government all the time - unless of course it is a government they didn't vote for.

Back in April, this might have worked.  Who would want to be in charge at this time, national unity and we're all in this together.

Since then the Cummings affair and other mishaps suggest the UK government is just the Tories being Tories, still distracted by Brexit, clumsy and incompetent, not very keen on state intervention of any kind and not really capturing the public mood at all.

I've watched Newswatch recently and it always strikes me that they're at pains to point out that 'some people think we're too critical of Boris, others think we don't criticise him enough so why don't you all shut the f**k up'.
