BBC bias

You have to assume with the BBC interviewing an actual Pinochet descendant about Chile and the Dersh on Ghislaine's sentencing that there's some irony poisoned editor having the time of their life. They'll have Mussolini's granddaughter on if there's a left breakthrough in Italy.

The panel on Politics Live there discussing Tony Blair's impending knighthood and the public polling on it showing huge disapproval.

Every panel member saying it's right for someone who has served the country for so many years to be honoured in this way. When asked why the public would be so against it, they had the brass neck to say it can only be because the public don't like politicians generally and don't like to see them given anything. Not a single mention of Iraq as a possible reason. Unbelievable.

They say it as if getting paid and a pension isn’t his reward for doing a job he applied for

Who was the Tory bellend from Norfolk who was arguing Blair shouldn't get knighted as he gave the Scot's devolution and therefore he will be to blame for the glorious union splitting up.

Just heard about this. Before interviewing a Pinochet about Chilean democracy, followed by Alan Dershowitz about child sex trafficking, Auntie Beeb used a self-confessed serial rapist (who they were warned had been blacklisted from the porn industry) as a source for how trans women are forcing lesbians to have sex with them. And it gets worse from there.

Disturbingly, I've...err...enjoyed Lily Cade's work in the past, and feel almost as disgusted with myself as the BBC should. What on Earth is going on over there?

Jordan said everyone should expect their views to be appropriately represented by the national broadcaster – even if they believe the Earth is flat. “It’s critical to the BBC that we represent all points of view and give them due weight,” he said.

“Flat-earthers are not going to get as much space as people who believe the Earth is round, but very occasionally it might be appropriate to interview a flat-earther. And if a lot of people believed in flat Earth we’d need to address it more.”

BBC director of editorial policy admits they’ll simply regurgitate ‘what a lot of people believe’ no matter how ludicrous. No prizes for guessing how they’ll conclude ‘what a lot of people believe’ of course.

That’s absolutely wild they would even consider this a reasonable stance to take

Maybe there should be a referendum (aaarrggghh) on the future of the BBC.

If there was, would the BBC remain neutral on its coverage? 🤔

Conservatives are privatising it anyway in 2 years

Nice to see the Beeb still cover up the horrific acts that occurred under their watch by brandishing notorious nonce as a "TV personality"

TBF, his first TV gig was on Tyne Tees, so really, it's all ITV's fault.

More odd than biased but the lunchtime news just reported on the bus crash in London this morning. The reporter said "The Labour Mayor of London, Sidiq Khan......" why the need to describe him as the LABOUR mayor when all he was doing was expressing his concern and praising the efforts of the emergency services. Totally bizarre way to report it.

Pointed out to me by Mrs. Nosejob and now I notice it every time on BBC News...

“The Labour Welsh Government”, “The Labour Manchester Mayor”, “The SNP Scottish Government/First Minister”

BUT..

“The Prime Minister/Chancellor of the Exchequer/Government”

Party identifiers only used when it’s not Conservative. Has this been going on for a while?

Wasn’t there a side by side comparison done of coverage of public disgrace stories (or the like) about councillors, in which the Tory one wasn’t identified in the article by party (you had to Google him to find out which party he was in) but the SNP (or Labour) was explicitly identified by party in the headline?

Forgot to mention this so it's a couple of days old now, but when St Andy was put out of the Australian Tennis Open, the BBC sports roundup announcer said something like ".... the Scot made 16 unforced errors.."

I can't remember them saying how many unforced errors any other losing players made, but it must have been important otherwise I'm sure the beeb wouldn't have thought it important enough to mention.  I understand that Dan Evans and Emma Raducanu are also out, presumably they didn't make any unforced errors at all.... 🤔

To be fair, unless otherwise stated disgraced politicians should always be assumed to be tories
