From the ridiculous to the ridiculously bigoted.

Expect a lot of cancelled BBC licences in Liverpool if that ever happens 😉

John Beattie claimed to receive a text from someone who claimed that, one hour after the announcement of the new measures, he was made redundant and, as a consequence, homeless.

How does that equate to BBC bias? Homelessness can often be the consequence of losing your job.

Because "Nicola Sturgeon roared ..." might be a bit excessive for the BBC.

By using "Nicola Sturgeon said...". It gives off the impression that all laws in Scotland are simply from her own words and that there is no parliamentary democracy. It's a deliberate effort to paint her as a dictator. They never address policy and law changes in England in the same manner.

This will be the same John Beattie show that used to have Eammon O’Neill, Anna Burnside and Stuart Cosgrove using it as a platform to spout their pro Indy diatribes.

Well the good news is that Stuart and Eamonn now have a weekly podcast called Talk Media which is chock full of diatribes which regularly sail very close to the truth.

Don't thank me, just tune in.

Thats the worst drawing/outline  of Scotland I have ever seen.

His England, Wales and Isle of Man are fairly shite too.

Why do the BBC keep using the term "Nicola Sturgeon said..." when it comes to policy changes in Scotland?

She will keep announcing them.

Within an hour? Seems unlikely.

Because that is how Scotland works.

They should say "Dominic Cummings said.." in London then. Poor Laura K was lambasted for it without even mentioning his name, replacing it with "No. 10 sources".

How fucking tragic that you daft wee Natters are still going on about Cummings.  You really are the most aggrieved people I have ever known.

You don't think the mastermind of Brexit, Boris's right hand man, is a significant person in the Unionist establishment that you slavishly follow? I say Unionist, but willing to dump Northern Ireland when convenient of course.

You are heaping trope upon trope here, mate.  Not at all surprising but certainly disappointing.

I support one UK in the heart of Europe as I have said for years.  So a plague on both your small-minded, divise, xenophobic border-guard houses.

John Beattie claimed to receive a text from someone who claimed that, one hour after the announcement of the new measures, he was made redundant and, as a consequence, homeless.
That's disingenuous.

The texter was saying that they will almost certainly lose their job, and as a result, they'll effectively be homeless (presumably due to being unable to pay rent). I think they also mentioned having a reason why they couldn't move back in with their parents.

I listened to beattie today and thought he covered things very well. Mentioned the text from someone saying about hearing more from those who lost loved ones. I don't think he shows any great bias and i instead reads the comments he gets sent in.

He isn't a great interviewer but he does try to play devil's advocate as much as possible.

I find Beattie to be faiirly balanced also. I think the rugby stereotype tends to skew some folk's opinion of him.

Aye, balanced in a climate change v no climate change way.

There is no doubt that over the course of yesterday's programme that it would be regarded as balanced but goodness me, some of the contributions were loaded with prejudice and ignorance. There are broadcasters who specialise in sharing the views of such a cohort and the BBC shouldn't be one of them.
